I've been late to the game but this is such a well executed drama. Enjoying my journey so far. I'm at episode 27.

Love the quirkiness in the first episode. Not the usual clichéd rom-com. Looks promising.

Hanyan needs the noble consort's help in forcing her dad to complete rewriting that encyclopedia. After which, he'll lose the emperor's protection and she can take her revenge. It's a rather complicated plot.

Episode 23 is so healing after the upheavals of the previous episodes. So glad the leads have cleared the air.

Looking forward to TQ’s revenge. Karma’s a biatch, especially after SCC has put him through a rollercoaster set of emotions, toying with his trust, love and vulnerabilities. It’s time she goes through the same emotional tumbler.

The Chinese word for chicken (ji) sounds like the first character word for opportunity (also ji). Hence the pun. Their written forms aren't the same.

The ML's voice is the same as in his last dramas so I'm betting that's his own voice. Sometimes, only some actors are dubbed, not all. I personally prefer hearing their own voice.

I'm looking forward to this drama more than to First Frost and the Best Thing. This plot is far more original and refreshing.

Don't forget his alphabet song. He's a relentless hoot.

Huaner's dad's speech and apology to Xichi is so beautiful. Almost had me in tears too. His love for his daughter is so everlasting it transcends the future when he and wifey are no longer around. I thought he'll cut XC off if he hurts HE but no, he wants her to continue to be protected by her childhood friend. What a compassionate and intelligent dad.

I ask the same question. The screenwriters have to compensate for her lack of screentime by dragging out her miserable romance. What a torture for the audience.

So sad to have to say goodbye to the Always Home cast. I've enjoyed my daily journey with them. What a wonderful drama. Thank you for taking us through your teenage years to fledging adulthood. I'll go enjoy the last 5 episodes first.

I like both. This one deals with more angsty issues. SY's portrayal is different here but the dark issues are well balanced by the light heartedness which do not belittle the dark sensitive topics.

Have you watched Hidden Love? It is a related drama by the same author. You don't need to watch that to understand this but it helps a little.

This partially explains why QQ is so unlikable - she's been faking it.

That's how I end up giving 9.5s and 10s for my favourite dramas, just to counter those ridiculously low ratings. 😁
