I LOVE IT SO FAR. I love the Fast Pacing. I fkn love how it doesn't drag its feet, its setting up multiple characters story really well so far. Cinematography is chefs kiss. The acting is actually reallly good, everyone's holding their own. The story seems like it has depth and substance, I can't wait for more! I love the wide screen it literally feels like a movie.. again, its gorgeous quality. Also, It seems there's a second lead couple as well?? if they are, they're cute asf too. This was such an unexpected gem for me. It held my attention really well. Overall, REALLY solid first EP!
Mim’s performance is really impressing me. At first I was afraid she’d just be a basic female lead Mary sue type who’s just very protagonisty.. but she has depth. It makes sense that she’d come off naive and wide eyed and unaware due to being thrown into something that she has no clue about but I was afraid that would be dragged out. She clearly is very intuitive, much smarter than she looks and has an inner strength that makes her compelling. You can see it in the way she sharply asks questions, she’s very inquisitive and perceptive. I really love that. I haven’t read the book so I can only speak on what I see in the show and so far it’s looking really solid in just 2 eps. I LOVED the fast pace story telling and character evolutions in poisonous love (which is also Northstar) and this has that same energy. It’s very character and dialogue driven. Very soap opera esque or lakorn which I’ve grown to like. My only thing would be to watch the tone sometimes.. this is still a thing I see in general in Thai GLs (I can only speak on that cause that’s all I’ve watched) sometimes certain scenes can flatten the seriousness of the show. I do know that a creative choice but that’d be my only thing. Good second episode tho. Overall, still way too early to fully judge but solid so far.

I absolutely loved this show ngl. Although, I was rooting for namnung x sunny, I was very fulfilled with the way it ended. Very realistic and sort of serves as a cautionary tale for viewers. You like somebody? the time is NOW. Not tomorrow, not next week not XYZ.
As I was watching I felt myself being reflected through these people. Similar fears, fear of rejection, not wanting to hurt others, fear of being vulnerable, etc. It shows us what we lose when we choose to self sabotage ourselves out of real opportunities. It's like those sayings my mom drilled in my head growing up "Fortune favors the bold", "the squeaky wheel gets the oil", "closed mouths don't get fed." You have to put yourself out there boldly and confidently in order to be in the running at all. A lot of these people weren't even aware of some of the others' feelings which makes sense since they weren't informed until towards the end. The ones who ended up together were the ones who made it clear to the other from early on.
If you shoot you might catch and you might miss, obviously. But I promise you, you will miss 100% of the time if you don't even shoot in the first place. They learned that lesson here. Namnung spent the entire time playing back and forth with time and sunny. She said she liked sunny romantically but never once showed her or told her. (She showed the audience and told us and us as viewers can see it but it's SO different when you're in it.) She carried on as Phi-nong. She told us she liked time but couldn't even properly communicate that to him. He eventually moved on to someone else. her opportunity closed. when she finally chose him for a date towards the end, he was already developing feelings for sunny.
Then there's Time who liked sunny and was going down the same path as Namnung in not telling her. He decided to jump and tell her earlier and that's where they finally began. We find out he was also interested in tod but never once made that an option for himself. Instead, he competed with him over namnung. What's a guy supposed to think? (that applies to sunny as well. What's a girl supposed to think if we're suddenly options for the same guy? I can totally understand how sunny nor time even thought that namnung or tod wanted them as well. I think it's clear that even though both sunny and time are feeling each other they're clearly feeling their roommates, who they've literally spent the most time with. The difference is most of that time spent had a different feeling. It wasn't romantic because they probably wrote that off due to the dynamic set earlier. (It's completely understandable.)
Then we have khun suay Joy who finally jumped, unfortunately, towards the end where sunny had already begun developing something with time. I loved seeing her transformation. That shit is so attractive. Women, especially, whether queer or het, have to be more assertive in this world. Don't wait around to be chosen, don't settle. It's not wrong to love and it's also not wrong to not be loved sometimes which lets me segue into Kong, who told literally everybody else but tod that he liked him. He asked friends to sus things out for him and gauge, instead of manning up and going to tod to create a connection himself.
Mill liked asse but never did or say anything, then liked tod but barely communicated that to him (which is understandable but people aren't mind readers. Again women, we gotta put ourselves out there!) Unfortunately, because of that tod didn't have the opportunity to sit with that. So he chose neither.
And then Mr. Microwave Tod swallowed his feelings and prioritized his friendship with time and didn't confess till the literal final hour. I can only imagine the whiplash time felt. I would be a little upset if i were time just because I would feel like had this been illuminated to me sooner I would've been able to give it a real shot. Such a missed opportunity. People like sunny and time don't get a fair chance to explore all their options if their options aren't making themselves options in the first place. GO AFTER WHO YOU WANT PEOPLE. like sunny said, its okay to be selfish sometimes. GO get the girl, GO get the boy. There is no such thing as fate. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. You might be surprised as to what was possible for you. I bet watching this show back a lot of them are thinking "I wish I did this or If only I knew, etc" You could see how much bolder sunny got when she was realizing namnung might be into her. Namnung is someone she's definitely interested as well but nammnung's reservations, confusion and subsequent withdrawal pushed time and sunny together. She took herself out of the game. It was already towards the end, she wasn't confident. It's all just so understandably tragic. But very real. This happens sooo many times in real life. I've literally done it before. I don't share the same sentiment that time and sunny would've always chose each other. I think namnung underestimated just how much she could make sunny's head spin. However, I'm glad she didn't choose anyone and instead chose herself. Let this be a lesson to all the viewers, ESPECIALLY queer ones, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
Anywayyyyssss before I leave this ted talk I'll say that the format of the show should change only in the aspect of how they sleep and how they're paired for games. No one should have roommates imo. This creates a potential roadblock and possible discomfort for pursuing their roommate because of their proximity. Everyone should have equal opportunity (on other words, everyone's an opp/potential suitor). In terms of pairing or teams, they can do one game paired at random and then for the next one they can choose (and so on) This is so that unlikely pairs emerge and have an opportunity to spend time together. I really loved what they did in one of the episodes where they weren't allowed to pair with someone they've already paired with. This forces them to break whatever comfort person or go to person they already have, allowing a new potential connection.
This is a borderless dating show, make it more borderless, restructure some games to allow fairness between genders, amp up the opportunities, film more confessionals, etc..
That's just my 2 cents. Anyway, I cant wait for season 2!
