I heard that NiaoNiao actually died and an adult time traveler from the future took over her body. I'm curious did the story changed a lot in the drama since some of the stuffs NiaoNiao did in the drama was quite fitting of what a 15 year old who has been neglected since birth and would be weird if a 20+ year old adult did the same thing.
And did the time traveler go back to her time in any point of the story?
Finished watching ep 27 and I think episodes 22-27 are really good! (More information in the spoiler) I didn't…
From the part where - LBY saved the NiaoNiao from the tower,
- NiaoNiao greeted the emperor super casually "bi xia hao"
- The emperor thinking about how to bring the leads together and got kicked out by Consort Yue (First time seeing an emperor being treated so casually and I laughed a lot!)
- NiaoNiao visits LBY with her father and they were so nervous
- NiaoNiao entered the palace for the first time
- LBY proposed to NiaoNiao! (Ep 24)
- Lord Ruyang, who was supposed to sabotage the lead's marriage, supported the marriage instead after meeting NiaoNiao, much to NiaoNiao's disappointment hahahaha.
- LBY's meal with Cheng family was so awkward and well done (Ah Fei your joke is not funny)
- Morning exercise with LBY
- NiaoNiao being drunk and treating LBY as a horse ("ling bu yi you mei le" is so cute!)
There are some scenes where the leads quarreled and I liked that they quarrel over real issues instead of just being unreasonable.
Because of episodes 22-27, I will give this drama a 9.5/10 overall. Hopefully, part 2 will be good!

I didn't mind the slow-burn romance as I find the stories entertaining to watch. The plots for some of the shows that I watched flattened out after the leads got together, so the slower they get together the more interesting plots I can watch. But I do think episodes 17 and 18 are a bit redundant (just my opinion, feel free to disagree with me). My advice to those who cannot take slow-burn romance is to check out ep 22-27. (Oh do check out the "treating injury" part in episode 12 too, the chemistry between the leads is intense)
Overall a funny, fluffy, and enjoyable show to watch! This is something that I can rewatch with I'm feeling stressed and need something to turn off my brain and have a good laugh. I like Sejeong's facial expression throughout the show and it adds a lot of substance to her character! The other casts did a great job too. The show has quite a lot of cheesy lines and I find it quite funny that the characters are aware that the lines are cheesy and started judging. And how can I forget "You know I have no chingus!" The scene where the FL takes care of ML in the rainy day is really touching (ep 10)
It could have been a perfect 10 but the last 2 episodes felt disconnected from the rest of the story. Initially I thought Grandpa shipping the CP is rather cute and unique, but by ep 11 he became a typical overbearing president which a lot of Kdrama has already shown (even the mini-drama in this drama!). Some scenes does not really move the story along and thus felt a bit draggy. Therefore I think this is a 9 for me. (It would be very perfect if only Grandpa shipped the couple all the way!)
I love that things are moving much faster after breaking off the marriage with Lou Yao. Oh can I talk about the scene when Zisheng is bidding farewell to Niao Niao in the forest (Ep 19), love it alot!
Hi all! I created MDL account just because I wanted to join the lively discussion over here. Just started watching not long ago (now at ep 16) and I really love it! I feel that I am watching a movie when I watch the drama. Really excited to watch the rest of the show!
