I've watched till Ep 25 and there's still no chemistry between Zhuge Yue and Xing'er. Their scenes feels forced and there's no emotion behind it. The acting is so bad in some scenes, I don't know why but this is a capable cast so I expected more. I liked Princess Agents and I've read the whole novel so I would watch the whole story unfold but this is so disappointing.
If you are going into this while expecting it to be on the level of Princess Agent then you'll be disappointed. Just watch this as another telling of the same story. At least you'll get to watch the other half of the story this time. But if you really want to compare it with PA then, that emotional connect is missing, sometimes it feels as if the actors and actresses are just forcefully reiterating their lines without any emotions behind it or sometimes there's too much emotion, editing feels choppy and even though it was produced 6 to 7 years after PA, still it somehow feels low budget in front of it.
I had only seen one 12 episode drama before this one and that was Reset, which was also a masterpiece. I'm on episode 10 and this is also looking like a masterpiece to me. Story is a bit complicated but the emotions which are brought on by the acting is just out of this world. Looking forward to the next 2 episodes and hoping for somehow a happy ending (just because time travel is involved)
I'm liking the second half of the show. The pace has finally picked up. I just wish they couldve done this from the start, the ratings might have been around 8.2 to 8.5 but still hey, it isn't too late though.
Giving MZY the needed push to take a step ahead towards WZ
well, that was my analysis of 20 episodes that I had watched but as I am now watching 21st episode there seems to be some progress made. At least all was not lost. I thought I just wasted my time watching so many filler episodes.

what step???He fell in love with her in the first episode, he did not acknowledge it. She also knows he loves her but she wanted him to acknowledge his feelings but he still doesn't acknowledge it now. Sometimes I get annoyed with these filler arcs which barely contributes to the plot.
Aah!!! After watching episode 20 someone please tell me what was the purpose of this cousin, love triangle arc?? Did it achieve anything??? Everything is still the same beside Xiao Si knowing about their secret.
After watching today's episodes I finally I get it now why the ratings are so low. The plot doesn't seem to move, romance is a slow burn, editing feels choppy, no consistency amongst the power levels. This drama is slowly turning into a mess and it's all backroom team's fault. I liked it at first cause it felt unique but now it just dragging.
Why the ratings are so bad for this drama?? This is 8 to 8.5 drama till now, not 7.6 The story seems okay, acting is done well by almost everyone of the cast members, chemistry between the leads felt off in the starting episodes but that is sorted now. So why everyone is rating it down.
This is 10/10 drama for me. How can it only be rated as 8.2 on this platform? So many good performances by all the actors, cinematography is amazing with those shots and the screenplay with the OST is just brilliant. Till episode 20 this is the drama of the year for me.
Manman and Ming Tan both trying their hardest to make their husbands fall for them. Both are using their wits to romanticize their husbands. Now that's what I call peak level writing. You don't always need an annoying side character to make them fall for each other. Both dramas are doing amazing in this regard.
Shit! The amount of tragedy and sadness which are gonna occur after so much sweetness will be legendary. I am preparing myself well for shit to hit the fan. Let it come.......
Ming Tan is a unique kind of a FL. Commonly this type of a character is always given to those annoying side characters in dramas who is there only to put a wedge in between ML and FL. Now this feels fresh for me, so kudos to the writers.
