Im really loving the slow burn romance. We’re more than half way and it still seems unrequited with wuyi being friendzoned every episode LOL. Poor wuyi but i’m enjoying it though because I know it’ll be satisfying when jiayu reciprocates his feelings.
Im scared to finish this because what if one day im gonna be like “i wanna forget everything about this show, so i can watch it again and feel like it’s my first time watching it”
This show is making me feel nostalgic. Sometimes it gives off classic kdrama vibes too :o so good. I really dont want it to end. The unrequited love is so engaging and the intrigue is nonstop. The plot is so interesting.
can someone help me with the character relationships? so, the male lead has a 1st wife and then they had a kid??…
Keep watching . On ep 6, the crown princess literally said “i forgot to tell jiayu that my son is not wuyi’s son” or something. I love all his fake wives 😂
The truth is… I’ve been awakefor more than 24 hours since this premiered. I have insomnia now, not just pimples. I haven’t even finished watching because I had to work. I just kept thinking about it and couldnt sleep lmao even when i was treating my patient, i was imagining treating xiao wuyi’s head. My poor poor patient be wondering why im so quiet. It’s because of kttph. The show is so engaging, but I’m scared for it to end.
I just finished two episodes, and it took me this long because of the ads and now I have to sleep 😴 but lemme tell you this, the moment I clicked play, I was so excited or something my heart was pounding. First two episode are really interesting. I like Peter Ho and Aimi and Hou Minghao’s comedic timing. And of course HmH’s villainous aura. The story is really intriguing like I dont think I can sleep without imagining what might happen next, the action scenes and cinematography are better than expected, and the acting the chemistry of everyone the leads the villain just soooooo good in my opinion. I usually avoid love triangle, but I’m fine with this because it’s so very very mild and yet so intriguing and I am actually looking forward to it 😆 I am hooked but I don’t have access to VIP episodes yet. 🥲
My favorite parts so fat in ep 1-2: *Every Xiao Wuyi villain villain aura aura *Xiao wuyi and Xie jiayu first meeting at the boat! I wanted it to last longer 🥹 Gaaaah they’re so funny and cute together. I thought this was gonna be sad. But I’m not complaining.

A few observations based on the various trailers for this series: 1) The FL does not look like 'lead actress'…
I think it’s just average budget, but it’s definitely not as big budget as other dramas like POJ or POB or ADWAD, which is fine! This one has its own charm. I like that they didn’t use a lot of filters and look more natural here~ probably to avoid foundation general issue thingy? Even ML make up looks very minimal, which is probably why he looks haggard to you… But I’m glad it’s minimal. Generals don’t need that much make up. He also seems injured in a lot of scenes in the trailer, so he should be haggard and look injured 🥹 His people also supposedly died in war, so he should not have the energy to put on some make up. I thought he had too much make up in Glory when he didn’t even need it (or was it the filter?). 😭🥹😂 It’s also Aimi’s first leading role. It’s not gonna be easy to see her as a leading lady right away especially if we’ve only seen her as a secondary character what more a maid. I’m excited to see her, though 🥹 but who are we kidding? Leading role aura is not magic. Sometimes, they need to do it over and over again. Though some are natural. it’s the same with all the other leading actors/actresses now, they all started somewhere, and many of them didn’t have leading actor/actress energy on their first leading roles until their next leading roles! That includes hmh yup. But anyway, I’ve always thought Aimi is pretty, especially when she smiles. And she seems like a good actress, so I’m excited to see her first leading role and follow her acting journey ✨
But does a historical drama have to have kissing scenes for it to not be doomed? 🤔 Are we all horny or what lol.. On the other hand, I have noticed that historical dramas become more popular when there are steamy scenes. But for this drama, I doubt there will be. Still, i genuinely believe they don’t need to depend on those kind of scenes. Hope they bring back the innocence of cdramas (and kdrmas). Hmh also rarely does kissing scenes in his dramas (except young babylon and LITC).
