I think First's hair is a little thinner/lighter so it looks better on him, a different style would suit this actor more since he is pretty handsome, the hair just... doesn't quite work
imo the way they styled it looks a bit like a wig/don't like the way the strands are set, I've seen a lot worse tho, so it's not too bad, just my thoughts on it

the book was better but it was also short (like less than 200 pages of the actual plot tho the extras make it go over) and it didn't go into detail and proper characterisation either, I was hoping the series would adapt and bring more depth and life to the plot and characters but it didn't, prefer the book but only because it is the raw plot without the extra troubles that filming adds.
waiting for a plot to exist... very slow atm and a little disjointed, personally I hate flashbacks to stuff that happened earlier in episodes, or just so recently in their own timelines, which has happened multiple times 3 eps in. I don't think it's bad tho, at least not yet. if this pace keeps up... well, let's just see what happens next.

yeah.. the soccer parts are pretty cringe, didn't even bother to get extras to fill out the team to 11, and the opposing team? do they even have one? the background shots are so weird. low budget I guess.
I am weirdly sat for this, first few minutes kinda sucked ass but I liked the rest of the pilot, the chemistry was good. I didn't really enjoy 'your sky' but I think I will like this sort of dynamic between thomaskong more :) and the other couples were cute, the way ohm stared at jimmy after he became human 😸🥰 though I also think the amount of plot that was already kinda shown in this was too much, hopefully, like most pilots, the real version is more complicated and changes from the pilot. also hope that the screen time of the various couples is more even than the pilot suggests.

I think any real romance would have killed it for me, I liked that the show was about friendship and a romance factor would have made it harder to focus on friend dynamics as well as they did.
I actually didn't give a shit about TayNew, then I started to watch this show (I thought it was a BL but found out it wasn't on the 2nd or 3rd ep, I liked the unique synopsis) and now I absolutely love Tay and new and binged their other stuff, so although you're right about it being more popular because the actors are popular, the actual show is great (the ideas are more comedy than the execution but I'm not a big fan of comedy anyway) and the various relationships shown throughout are extremely well done, and to pull from something someone said when comparing Atla to Korra, this show does a really good job of connecting everyone. Of the four mains (+suradech) you can describe what type of relationship/friendship they have with each other all because it was actually fleshed out which is something I found very compelling.
I thought the same and it was distracting along with the turtle trying to escape every episode.
yeah, honestly couldn't really enjoy it with that going on, the whole turtle storyline just made me angry 'oh it has a cold' having a cold is nothing compared to the stress it's in being in that shit enclosure and the rest of it was too fluffy, I couldn't get attached to the characters.
