I was looking for a cute, easy watch and this was a good fit! This is a perfect rebound drama for after finishing heavier show. 🤣 Cute romance, very light conflict, everyone couples up, and the leads never separate/break up.

Got to episode 16 and just felt frustrated that he kept lying and she kept being so ruthless (like come on, what will happen to Hong Xiu if you get hurt while she’s pushing you on the swing?). Looked up some spoilers to find this is basically the whole show. And the first “progress” in their relationship is her cheating on him (even though it’s him?). I want my 8 hours back, please.

I agree with you a thousand percent on both your comments. I went in expecting it to be a weird story, but it all made perfect sense and was really interesting. And then your spoiler comment… yes, I want HBO to get a hold of this show. 😆

Although I have a hard time forgiving FL for abandoning ML for so long. At least she stopped messing around before it was too late. 😅

This show was surprisingly good! The story was really interesting (even if you have to fill in some of the gaps in your own 😅) and the acting by the main characters was really well done and emotional. I’m really glad I watched and and will probably rewatch!

I love when you go back to an older drama and Liu Yuning’s voice pops up. Happens kind of often. 🤣🤣

I just finished and I loved this show so much! The love story, the fight scenes, the found family, it was just so good!

I’m realizing now this whole show was about people trying to move forward vs people who were stuck. The leads and their crew were trying to set things right and move forward with a brighter future. But all of the villains were just people who were trapped by their circumstances and couldn’t find their way to move on. Not “evil,” just trapped in their trauma.

I really like how they showed this in progress with the princess and the emperor. She was beginning to fall into the abyss, but at the same time, she was pulling him out of it. It was so complicated, but I’m glad they at least got to share a brief moment of understanding with each other.

All the parallels with the two royal families was so well done. The difference was just love… it doesn’t fix everything, but if you can reach out to someone or hold on to someone who is reaching out to you, you can still have hope.

This is really funny to me. I came here because I just finished 100 Days My Prince and was looking up Nam Ji Hyun’s other work. I guess he’s not her brother anymore… 🤣🤣

This was pretty cute and I enjoyed watching it. But this is how I’m fleshing out that ending in my head.

1. It turns out brother Prince is actually a genius and compassionate leader and crown prince abdicates in favor of him.
2. When they have that marriage line up, SML realizes that HS isn’t really in his heart anymore. Later we see him go visit the courtesan and confess.
3. Won Deuk and Hong Sim just live as a normal couple in the village solving problems.
4. One more time skip with WD and HS’s kids playing with their cousin and the other village kids while their parents hang out with So Hye and her brother who are now fully integrated into the village. Another kid runs into the yard followed by her pattens- SML and former courtesan.
5. Then we fade to black on the happy and simple village life. 🥰

What is up with this silly/cute poster and then I come to reviews and everyone's saying how dark and melodramatic it is...

I wasn’t sold on her character at first either, but I love her now. The character really challenged my thinking on what a good FL could be.

She may not be intelligent in the way her sister is, but grows a lot and is her own person. By the end you see she feels and cares so deeply and stands up for what she views is right. Being book smart isn’t the only good quality out there. Someone shouldn’t be valued less because they aren’t that intelligent. She is persistent, creative, loving, and warm. Those are also really wonderful qualities for a person to have. Especially to match with a character who has been abandoned his whole life. He doesn’t need any more intelligence. He needs love and warmth and someone who can be his family.

His whole time in Dafeng he was collecting the family and friends he struggled to find in the other world. Her alternate persona chose studies over him. But in Dafeng, she has space to value relationships over achievements. And I think that’s beautiful and perfect!

I also just finished and don’t know about the novel. But when the Astronomy Bureau gets the Alchemy book in the end, it says that it has the power to even bring back the dead. And then the body gets delivered to the bureau (Xu Qi An specifically asked his dad to retrieve the body, if I remember correctly).

So I think they will bring him back to life.

I love these two so so so much!!!!
