I didn't like the new trailer as much as the old one, but the reason I was so excited for this was because it is directed by Backaof and he didn't disappoint. The first episode was pretty great.
Such a vast improvement from s1. This show was about flawed characters and their growth, and because of trying to give a cookie cutter type ending in s1 they ended up undoing all the character development. I am glad they did better in this season. The character developments were amazing. I ended up caring for all the characters, even those I didn't care for in s1 and the ending was perfect.
If not for the last episode, I would have given it a perfect rating. But overall I think it's just as good as…
Liked: 1. Plot- It was a plot driven story and the plot was very good. 2. Plot twist - I know everyone thinks that there were too many plot twists but they didn't bother me. In fact they made the plot more exciting and intense. A good plot twist is one that is hinted at but still manages to surprise and that is what this season did. 3. Acting - Everyone did an amazing job but special credits to Gun, Prim, Jane and Fiat. 4. Themes - While s1 was more black and white, this season showed more developed themes that were actually well done. The way they interweaved the political undertones was amazing. 5. Namtarn- It would have been incomplete without her so I was very happy with her cameo. I love her friendship with Pang and Ohm. But honestly I don't ship PangNamtarn, they are like Harry and Hermione, imo.
Did not like: 1. The Last episode - They so easily defeated the director that the entire build up and development was wasted. Also the way everyone now is a gifted is just such a convenient ending, I hated that. I think the theme that they are trying to portray can't easily be showed with only two seasons, that's why the ending was kind of cookie cutter. 2. Character Development- As it was plot driven, the characters definitely weren't focused on. It was such a missed opportunity. Pang was the main character but did nothing the entire season. All the other characters also were just used as plot devices rather than characters. 3. Darin- Why was she there? She served no purpose at all. Waste of screen time. 4. Structure - Well there wasn't anything wrong with it, but I just preferred the s1 structure where each episode focused on one character. 5. That PangWave wasn't 100% canon - Oh well at least they were 90% canon, so that's good enough.
This was much better than I thought. It was so cute to watch the baby version of The Gifted actors. Nanon as Oh was cute and Peach and Oh were mostly adorable. Though I was definitely annoyed by some of their actions and storyline. I liked that Peach already liked Oh before his makeover because I hate it when characters have to completely change themselves for the love interest. Also it was great that they showed Oh valuing and standing up for himself. In, Sun and Ainam storyline was definitely superior. Honestly, the writers should have made them a poly relationship. Ainam was the best character. InSun needed more screen time and development as they didn't have a proper closure. But I love their Our Skyy episode.
The way Nadao releases a new MV after each episode shows how much love and effort they have put into the show. I hope Nadao can make more lgbt series (bl, gl, anything else) as they have done a splendid job.
BTW I really want to know if this is as famous in Thailand as it is here, because it is ultimately their opinion that matters in deciding whether more gems like this are produced.
Ahh! You put it out in the best words! Even I thought of it and the way it's shown he wrote pages of "Rival" in…
Yeah even I wanted to mention about the 'rival' he wrote and the fact that he mentioned in the interview in ep1 that Oh was a major reason for him pursuing acting, shows that Oh has always been in his mind but he just couldn't comprehend his feelings for him.
there is this translation about why on Teh's t-shirt "i told sunset about you" is small in the front, but in the…
This is so amazing. The level of thought they have put in such tiny details is the reason why this is such a masterpiece!! BTW if we go by this logic then the shirt Oh wears has sunset written in bold which implies that his feelings are as open and as clear as the words on his shirt without any secrets. A contrast to Teh.
Some people wrote that this comment section will be filled with hate for Teh after episode 4 due to his vacillations…
I think this comment section is smart enough to understand the difference between homophobia and people coming to terms with their sexualities, so this won't be a issue.
How long do y'all think Teh has been in love with Oh? Because I think he has always been in love but never realised it, that's why he made such a big deal of the 'betrayal'.
As someone who absolutely hates that husband wife thing in bls, I agree so much with this. There are so few thai…
Thank you so much for this link! I feel so happy seeing this. I think many bl actor's would also have the same thoughts but they are just bogged down by shitty scripts.
i posted a lot in this comment section but i also want to tell in the 3rd episode, when Oh talked about "male…
As someone who absolutely hates that husband wife thing in bls, I agree so much with this. There are so few thai bls that are not heteronormative, and this is definitely one of them. I mean that scene where Oh asks if there can be two male protagonist and Teh nods was so artfully done, that is what's missing from many Thai bls.
I really wanna watch this but Wetv doesn't work for me.
What a waste!!
