Now that I know all of this, I have even more respect for William

I’ve seen Barcode in BOC series, where he looked like such a cutie, but seeing him in this series, he somehow looks a lot more mature. Maybe it’s the styling, but I can definitely see some changes in his face too.

Or maybe I’m just noticing it because I’m seeing him again after almost 3 years.

Definitely knowing that one actor was barely 18 while the other was in his mid-to-late 20s would’ve made me uncomfortable, and honestly, I might have skipped the series if I’d known beforehand.

But the funny thing is, I only found out about their ages after I finished it. Call me stupid, but I genuinely thought they were around the same age because Boom has such a baby face.

The age-gap thing is actually why I’ve skipped MaxNat and ZeeNuNew too. Even when I don’t know their exact ages, sometimes you can just feel the age difference from their faces and the dynamic, and it immediately puts me off.

I didn’t mean it as an insult at all, it just genuinely felt like it. And even if it is AI-generated, what’s the issue? I’m an AI developer myself I build and use AI in like 90% of my work.

I don’t know what their actual skin tones are, but you can clearly see a lot of skin editing and brightening. It’s so extreme that they almost look unreal. Most Asians aren’t naturally that fair, so I’m pretty sure whitening creams and heavy filters play a big role, especially in Thailand

The actress and the editing are SO on point. 😭 For the first half, I genuinely couldn’t believe it was the same person playing both characters. It’s only once they start falling apart that you really begin to notice the differences.

This movie deserves SO much more recognition and love. I really wish we got more films like this because I absolutely love this kind of genre.

A big age gap is also a bit of an ick for me, especially when one of them is a minor or significantly younger. I don’t know how it is now, but back then it felt pretty common. A huge part of the audience was under 20, so I think they often preferred younger actors and weren’t as comfortable with more mature actors and some productions definitely leaned into that.

That said, I did appreciate that this series didn’t overly sexualize the younger character, especially compared to some other shows from that era. That made it a little easier to watch for me.

If I remember correctly, it was filmed around the Chiang Mai region or somewhere similar, and I absolutely loved how it showcased a more cultural and local side of Thailand. That’s something I really love seeing in dramas.

So if I ever visit Thailand, I’m 100% going to try to visit all those places 🥹

I know for a fact I probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much if I watched it for the first time now, and I can totally understand why some people wouldn’t like the series either. But what really stood out to me was the cinematography and the locations

It’s on my watch list! I’ve actually been on a break from BLs and dramas since 2024 because of work, but I’m slowly getting back into them again. I’ve missed so many shows, so I’ll definitely get around to watching them soon.

And I KNEW I had seen Est somewhere before! And yessss, I was right, he was in Love by Chance 2! I probably watched that show at 5x speed, but I still remember him because he looked SO beautiful in it.

Est has such a pretty face, somehow very masculine and feminine at the same time?? And I loved him even more with that long mullet hairrrrr. He looked ridiculously good.

I just found out William is 21??? HOW is that man so young?! He genuinely feels like he’s been in the industry for way longer, and then I find out he’s only 21?? His performance is seriously impressive though

Both the leads are SO damn pretty, and the chemistryyyyy is CHEMISTRYINGGGG.

I’ve loved all 4 episodes so far. The vibes, the tension, the looks??? Yeah, I’m seated.

It’s just my opinion, though it might be completely different from yours. I just couldn’t feel anything particularly new or interesting about either character. They both felt like pretty typical MCs to me, nothing I haven’t seen before.

And Cha Do Hyeon’s character is borderline annoying for me. I also couldn’t really see the development of their relationship or where the love was coming from. It mostly felt like he was forcing things while also constantly avoiding them, so I just couldn’t connect with their romance.

As I’m getting older, I feel like I’m enjoying old GMMTV shows more and more the same ones I used to complain about for having no depth.

Now I’d literally sell my soul to watch some of them again for the very first time.
