It's a happy ending for the main couple, but it definitely feels rushed. The final two episodes feel like an olympic…
I also didn't like that after this scene in Wei Shao's studio, when Qiao Man found him during the storm, his fear of dark was suddenly not a problem anymore, even thought it was quite an issue before even when he was with his troops.
I really liked ML in "Dream within a Dream." Here he plays very similar character (although the female lead is slightly less interesting than one from "Dream" drama). It's very enjoyable, the story is engaging, both the main and supporting characters are easily likable, and the love story is well-played (although the term "slow burn" takes on almost a whole new meaning here; it really does take a long time for the main couple to actually connect).
I just watched it, and in my opinion, the South Korean one is definitely better. The changes in the Japanese version are mostly cosmetic (the only interesting plot point was the attempted romance between Wataru and Reina, but that meant everyone knew from the start that Wataru was the heir), and Takeru Satoh, whom I fell in love with in "Glass Heart," was unfortunately rather bland here.
The drama overall was enjoyable (though I didn't like that FL so easily forgave ML for the complex web of lies and manipulation he'd entangled her in).
But what irritated me most was the Tourette's syndrome part – why was it even mentioned if it had no impact on the plot at all? Ever since this subject appeared, I'd been hoping for a scene where the heroine had a seizure in front of the hero, or ended up in the hospital because of it – but no, nothing happened. So why even add it to the story?
Especially with the brooch - it was supposed to be so important, but ML's cousin just tossed it because apparently it didn't have any significance for the takeover of the company xD
This is definitely one of the worst dramas I've ever seen.
The girl has no problem with ML switching from his supposed-fiancée to a woman who looks exactly like her. The man has no problem with being involved with a woman who looks exactly like his sister. None, not even the slightest doubt (I have a brother and no, that would not be an easy situation).
And the number of plot holes and nonsense was, in my opinion, absolutely insulting to the viewer. Like when Manning was in a coma for a staggering two days after a "fire," it was said that she suffered severe respiratory burns, and during the same conversation it turned out there wasn't even a fire, just a smoke bomb. So what exactly burned her?🤦
Or when, like a complete idiot, she ate a mango, to which she was severely allergic, instead of simply saying she hated mangoes, because that's what any reasonable person would do... And I'm no expert, but since the allergic reaction was already quite advanced, vomiting the fruit shouldn't have been enough; without an epipen, she should have died.
And these are just two of the biggest pieces of nonsense from a whole lot of ridiculous things we've been treated to in this drama.
For me it looked like maybe they were planning season 2, because honestly the whole ending was awful.
Besides, in my opinion, Shen Cheng's behavior in the ending was completely out of character – he was an asshole throughout the entire series, only to suddenly decide to sacrifice himself?
I also don't understand what would have to happen for someone like Haitang to simply accept that her husband (or ex-husband) would take their child abroad.
This was generally sad and heavy. And there was not one actually romantic scene between both pairs of leads which was a bit disappointing.
But nonetheless overall the story was really good.
But then the ending happened, which was of course really bittersweet (not to mention that rushed and it didn't show much about what happened with heroes). So I'm pretty angry at the writers of this, because after all that struggle both pairs deserved happy ending and it could be arranged with everything that happened, they were literally one longer letter and explanation about pair in the future from happy ending :/
Her costume clothes is insane beautiful I can't even take my eyes out or blink she is just so gorgeous. So far…
Yes, mortal world was pretty great! I was wondering what on earth could all those remaining episodes be about, when ML died (and briefly thought it should just end when he was (supposedly) saved by lightnings, they united the worlds and were about to get married), but the mortal world arc was such a nice surprise, I was also disappointed that it wasn't longer.

A good pick-me-up and a break from something more serious.
And the lead actor is very easy on the eyes 😉
