So both main and second couple have a love trianlge. Main couples love triangle is longer lasting and it has a bigger impact on the story.
Main Couple: SML falls in love with MiaoMiao at first sight (I think you'll get there soon). Later he confesses to her, but she rejects him. The problem is that he has a bracelet that makes everyone he puts it on fall in love with him (but he doesn't know that). He puts the bracelet on her as a parting gift. She “falls in love with him” and says they should get married. This is the point where MiaoMiao and ZiQi part ways for, I think, one (could be two) episodes. Before that, there were a few scenes where ZiQi was jealous and, well, sad, obviously. But it's all resolved later when the SML finds out about the bracelet and takes it off for her. SML is heartbroken, but very accepting.
Second Couple: This happens parallel to the main couple. A princess who was once saved by Fuyi runs into him again and tries to win him over. She tries to invite him over and also interferes in a romantic moment between MuYao and Fuyi. At first MuYao is jealous, but Fuyi explains himself to her. The princess does get jealous, but doesn't make MuYao's life harder. Fuyi sets the record straight between him and the princess and tells her to forget about him. She denies it at first, but later accepts it. This love triangle isn't that bad/obvious. Just a girl trying to get in MuYao and FuYi's way (unsuccessfully).

1. the storyline is pretty good. Really, I'm watching more for the demon hunting plot (Though sometimes I must say it's a bit slow and could be better) and the family/friend bonding than the romance rn. Is there anything in specific you want to know? 2. there were a few misunderstandings, but nothing terrible. They are resolved pretty quickly. 3. yes, there was a love triangle. But only for a few episodes. Hard to explain. If you want spoilers, I can give them to you. 4. the villains are great! CDL doesn't play an important role. She shows up in the first couple episodes (great acting, very beautiful), but that's it. The other villains, however, are amazing and so interesting. We didn't get to see the main villain yet (no appearance), so I can't say anything about the acting.
I actually did not think I would like this because I usually do not like dramas with childish female leads. However, she is actually funny and sometimes even pretty smart. So far, I am enjoying this drama a lot.
I loved this drama, but the ending was a bit of a letdown. I would still recommend it though!
