thats true to live like that, i would kill myself or try to escape for sure.... :D
I think that's why it's so depressing, because this film is close to the reality for so many women in history. Even in the West where men didn't have concubines many men still had mistresses that they would favor over their legal wives and have illegitimate children with. I've had to stop watching any films or dramas depicting concubinage because I realized it just upsets me too much as a woman since I can't help but think about the real history of the practice.

Noble idiocy strikes again! This is the saddest xianxia I've ever watched. Yan Dan wandered around with that heartache for 900 years. I've said it before in comments on other shows and I'll say it again, Ying Yuan should have just told her the truth, that he loves her but their positions make it impossible for them to be together. If he had told her maybe they could have found a solution together and wouldn't have had to go through so much devastation. All I can say is that Ying Yuan better have to work hard to get her back after what happened to her. Yan Dan is a character of pure light so she deserves the world.

Title Yumi's Cells Season 2 Spoiler
So glad I put this on hold this after watching 4 episodes! I had a feeling she would end up alone in the show. I was falling too hard for Babi so I knew I would be disappointed if I kept watching and she ended up alone. I did really enjoy the writing and the special effects surrounding the cells, that's really what made Yumi's Cells stand out. If they ever end up making a Season 3 I'll come back and finish this.

I know there is a lot of hate for the mom, but I get her. Especially with asian cultures there is this thing with…
I'm sorry to hear that your parents treated you that way. I think especially in today's world parents should know better. There is a plethora of knowledge out there to learn how to treat your children right. In every relationship we should respect the other party's thoughts and feelings, whether it be children and parents, siblings, partners, etc.

I personally find that the most beautiful people are often the ones with unique and interesting faces. This is…
Just look at Hollywood celebrities, Kate Moss is one of the most famous supermodels ever and she has strabismus (her eyes don't line up when focusing on an object). Ryan Gosling is considered one of the most attractive men alive and he also has strabismus and uneven eyes. There are also a lot of successful models and actors out there who are successful becacuse they have an unusual appearance, it makes them stand out from other people. Look at Doug Jones, he's built like a twig but he was able to use that unique feature to have a successful acting career. Or Winnie Harlow who was bullied as a kid for having vitiligo but now is a well known model. I don't think appearance really matters much when it comes to acting, unless you are playing a character who is supposed to be physically attractive. I love Steve Buscemi and most people wouldn't consider him an attractive man. But with his award winning acting talent why does it matter what he looks like?

I really enjoyed this one. I love how Yu learned to love and live for herself in the end. As Rupaul says, "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?"

The writer took 12 years writing the 1st season whereas now it’s only 2 years (?) he’s gonna spend writing…
He didn't take 12 years writing it. He wrote it as a film in 2009 and pitched it to different production companies. When no one wanted to buy it he put it aside and worked on other projects. Then in 2018 when Netflix was looking for a big project to take on outside of America, he pitched it to them and they bought it with him attached to it because of his success with his previous series. He added more to the script to expand it into a tv show instead of a film. Taking a long time to get a project completed doesn't bother me in general. People have been trying to make The Sandman into a film since 1991 and it's finally becoming a tv series this year. Heck Disney had started trying to make an adaptation of The Snow Queen in the 1940s and made several attempts at it until Frozen came out in 2013.

This show has been one of my recent favorites! Japan is so good at slice of life dramas. I haven't watched it yet but the theme in the 2021 film Coda is similar, the main character is a hearing woman in a deaf family that is torn between pursuing her own dreams or staying in her hometown to help her family. I really enjoyed the romance in Shizuka Chan to Papa, like you said Shizuka and Keiichi complemented each other so well and were willing to learn from one another's viewpoints which is how a good relationship should be. The friction between Junsuke and Shizuka felt so real to me when they had arguments, I really have to commend the actors for their portrayal. They really wanted the best for each other it just took them a while to be on the same page about what "the best" was for each of them!

that last episode was soooo goooood. really tied it up nicely. I want to see the main female lead become mainstream.…
I agree with both points! I've been watching the main actress in Aono-kun ni Sawaritai kara Shinitai where she plays a meek high school student and she's excellent in that as well.

I had to comment again to talk more about the special effects. I'm a big fan of "less is more", especially with horror, so the special effects being poor didn't bother me. In fact, the effects actually reminded me a lot of ghost photography that you can view on the internet with the wispy barely there specters. Plus with the cosmic horror theme, who's to say that beings from another dimension would look anything remotely close to what is normal in our dimension?

I finally got around to watching this! Not quite as good as Noroi: The Curse, which is one of my favorite found footage films, but this one was still really enjoyable, especially the final act. I agree that anyone who likes Lovecraft would enjoy this.
