I get second lead syndrome all the time. My problem is that I like nice characters in romance stories and often the second male lead is nicer than the male lead. The worst ever for me was probably True Beauty. I dropped the show because I enjoyed the chemistry between Joo Gyung and Seo Jun so much and I knew they wouldn't end up together.
Am I watching a different show!!! Am on ep 6 and barely holding on. Too slow and boring. But the comments here…
I'm on episode 12 and I have a feeling this will be a 10 out of 10 for me at the end. I could see how someone would find it boring since they are repeating the same scenario with slight variations but I find it really well written.
I enjoyed this fluffy show. I appreciated both the main leads being intelligent and I liked how the friend group were very supportive and helpful to each other both with their business and in their personal lives. I even felt like I learned a little bit about architecture when I already knew a lot about it (I studied architecture in several art history classes in college).
I really enjoyed this one. It stressed me out to watch though because it reminded me of my own religious upbringing and how I was taught that everyone is born a sinner. I do agree that it needs a second season. I want to see where the story leads!
Am I the only one that thinks the Princess' death was unnecessary? Gimme your opinions!
It didn't really bother me too much. I prefer happy endings generally but I think with movies since they are so short I don't mind it. I liked the idea of Calaf spreading the fireworks throughout the world. There is a happy ending in the opera though and I always find it a bit of a bummer when an original happy ending is changed to a sad one.
The tags show clearly that there is romance between the ML and FL(Also under romance genre). However I think the…
Pedophilia is attraction to prepubescent children. Hebephilia is attraction to pubescent children (around ages 11-14) and Ephebophilia is attraction to teenagers (around age 15-19). Sometimes the public just lumps together the sexual interest of any minor under the age of consent as pedophilia. I think it's more for convenience since the other two terms aren't as well known.
Maybe one of these days I will learn to stop starting dramas that haven't completed airing yet. I watched this one about halfway through and then stopped and decided to wait for it to end and the ending sucked. At least I only watched half of it and not the whole thing. XD
This kind of thing is so hard for me as an artist to grapple with. On one hand I think that writers have the creative freedom to make any kind of character they want to. And even when good characters do bad things, I sometimes dismiss it because as humans we are flawed so it makes sense for a character to slip up. But I do worry that there are people out there that think they can take advantage of someone just because they see it happening in media. I think you did the right thing writing an article about this issue though, the more discussion there is about consent the more people will understand what true consent is.
Are they actually speaking the language or is it just made up? I thought the accent and dialogue sounds ancient…
Akkadian is certainly related to Semitic languages today but it fell out of use in the 1st century AD so it is not mutually intelligible. Old English fell out of use in the 11th century AD, about 1000 years after Akkadian, and Old English is not at all mutually intelligible with Modern English.
I enjoyed this one. While watching the film I figured the Americans would nope out at the first sign of trouble and they did. Apparently the Americans closed their embassy on January 5th (and I assume left soon after that) and the South Koreans didn't even get to the airport until January 9th. I felt for both the Somalians and the Koreans, especially the Somalian child soldiers and the children of the North Koreans. The Somalians just wanted a normal government with representation, Barre was a dictator for over 20 years that committed serious human rights abuses. The good news is that since 2012 they have had a legitimate parliamentary republic. At the end of the film I thought about how sad it was that those North Koreans would go back home and encounter a devastating famine in just a few more years. I'm sharing an interesting article that tells about how some of the things in the film were embellished but some of them were even worse than shown, the craziest to me is that the North Korean embassy was raided 8 times before they left!
I used to hate cates because of my past experience with cats, but watching this series makes me want to have a…
Cats have a wide spectrum of personalities. Some are very sweet naturally and some aren't. My grandma had a cat when I was a kid that was pure evil, he bit many family members without much warning. On the contrary, my grandma also had another cat that we took in when she died that was the sweetest cat in existence. I think the only time he got mad at me was when I touched his lower chest area or his tail which were his "no no" spots (all cats have spots they hate being touched) but he loved having his belly rubbed! I think it also helps to remember that all cats get overstimulated easily. I'm currently watching a neighbor's cats and one of them gets upset and hisses if you just walk by him too fast. You really just have to give cats some space to get used to you and they will warm up to you over time. Patience is key.
I don't really like horror films but for Kobayachi, I would watch practically anything he made. Because he's an…
It's not weird to call a horror film art! There are plenty of horror films that are very artistic such as Un Chien Andalou, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Carnival of Souls, House, Suspiria, Francis Ford Copolla's Dracula, The Cell, Tumbbad, Color Out of Space, Midsommar, etc. Also most films by Tim Burton, David Lynch, and Guillermo del Toro.
And a link to the movie with English subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JMuP4ocHD4
It's a beautiful but sad story. From what I could find on the internet they were able to meet each other several times before he passed in 2017.
