As for the plot itself, I have to say I did hope for a small difference in the ending, but at the same time, I knew since the beginning this would have been the most appropriate one. I wasn't expecting Philip's character to evolve that much and to help in that way at all, tho - he really surprised me. From a cunning, vile, not so pure friend nor courage to this. I am a bit taken aback about Seul Gi cause we were told she was his daughter and then it came out she was simply another orphan - what was probably not said is that she was indeed one of the numbered children and that she was indeed his daughter as they were used, aside from the organs trade, to generate new, perfect child. I would have preferred a more clear and transparent explanation. Also, for him not know about her being his daughter... I always imagined a final with him simply arrested possible because of this. He would have never left her alone - one thing is leaving her as just someone he loves and used to protect, another is to leave her knowing she was his child. He would have never let her being without a family when he was hers. Or maybe, knowing she would have always had someone beside her, he still would have done it - to protect all the other children and avoid future "children born to die".
I loved every single episode, every single character, every single scene. Everything. I laughed with them, smiled with them, cried with and for them. Maybe I got attached even more to it cause I do know very well about abuse in orphanages - tho not of this importance. But for me everything was perfect. The actors more than everything - they couldn't choose anyone better than them. How they portrayed the characters feelings both verbally and not verbally - I loved when they left the silence and the gazes to speak for them -, how you could feel their personal struggles, how they grew during each episode. It was perfect. I would just like to spend a few words on the OST. Lately, I noticed that the OSTs are not as important as they used to, but not in this drama. In this drama, it was not only on point but essential. The songs spoke instead of the actors when needed. They supported the scenes and the characters well. And they are beautiful.
--- I will post the comment on the plot on another post with "spoiler alert".
An open ended ending that didn't feel like the right ending. I don't even know what she was lying about.…
I think that it refers to the fact that she was lying to her dad and to herself. She was trying to be someone else because she didn't know how to face her dad - thus she was lying about who she really is.
Till the end I hoped that it wasn't true, that it was just Nian plan so that Yan could forget him and marry that…
How Sweet ** They should have used this ending in the first place! It's so much better. But as for almost all the gay film, it seems that the end must be sad. Thank you so much, really ^^
Till the end I hoped that it wasn't true, that it was just Nian plan so that Yan could forget him and marry that girl. Till the end I hoped that in the end they would met by chance and star over again.
