I’m not sure where this story is headed atm. I don’t believe in mainland China that stand up really exists.…
Yes, it’s tough industry. All the issues brought up are very realistic with no clear cut right/wrong resolution.

Also as much as I admire the billionaire for being so levelheaded and thorough when he makes decisions, he’s also a bit scary precisely because he is able to make business decisions without any emotional influence.

Compare him to the bar owner who makes decisions all on his passions even the dollars and cents make no sense.

Such a good drama….

Hang in there. It is frustrating. She’s been so used to being a doormat. It’ll take her a while. 7/8.

Ex-Bf is Zheng Hao. The actor is Wang Hao.
Just that they had two Zhang Yan and two Ma Chao. I think it’s because they system doesn’t know which actor is which since it has different actors with the same name.

The cast list looks weird. The bf doesn’t seem to be listed and there’s two actors for the same character?

The fact that the "bad" ex-boyfriend is getting the chance to change and be better isn't something you often see…
It’s nice to hear from someone who’s had experience living in Shanghai. I’ve only visited and was astounded by its shear vastness of metropolitanism (if that’s a word).

Ep 10 synopsis and comments - spoilers below
Ep 10 - plagiarism
From the end of ep 9, there is an awkwardness because our FL is just not ready to start a new relationship. The ML helps her out by brushing aside so she is relieved to continue bing friends with him. The rest of the ep focuses on her work being plagiarized by the customer who was at the bar from ep 9. With the help of the team an mainly the ML, she exonerates herself. We see her recognizing ML’s fondness of her as well.

Everything flows so well and feels very natural, even the awkwardness, reservations, uncertainty of her feelings towards the ML. Yet at the same time, it was interesting and not always predictable how the story unfolds.

I am liking this drama. Also liked Fake it till you make it. But I dropped In between after watching 4-5 episodes.…
Lol… in between can be challenging because we just want the fl to grow up already! And that gold digging bf! But I enjoyed watching it to the end. For the most part, there’s not clear “good” or bad guy, just imperfect people trying to figure out what’s important to them.

I want to start this but the fact the fl has a boyfriend in the beginning of the drama is just kne of the reasons…
Ok - so this is a story of character growth. It starts out with her being a doormat but that’s not her true spirit. The story will continue to unfold and we learn how she became this way. And yes, as a doormat, others will see you as an easy target to take advantage of. So she will have to overcome this. Along the way of growth, she will face challenges, develop true friendships. She will have victories and failures. there will be characters we grow to love and to hate but it’s all part of a wonderfully told story. If you don’t enjoy a person who may take some time to grow, this may frustrate you. It’s not Love Me Kill Me. More like In Between but I like this better so far. Theres some heart warming sweet scenes but not heart fluttering ( well maybe one so far)

No, not as of ep 9. I’ve been enjoying this drama a lot because it feels realistic. Everything feels natural and not forced. characters are developing. Good story telling and good plot and good acting.

Ep 9 synopsis and comments - spoilers below
Ep 9 - backstory for ML (Shi Ye)
Wonderful pacing and storytelling. Just when we are wondering about that the ML’s past, this episode focuses on Shi Ye. We learn how he was inspired by the FL and that middle school incident which led him to pursuing comedy. We also learn that he has no experience confessing to a girl. Always a cool cucumber except when trying to confess to a girl his feelings! The two of them spending a night at the bar during a rainstorm reveals their interest in each other.

This relationship will most likely take a while to develop imo. She is still learning how to assert herself and just broke up with her bf. Until she’s more confident being her true self, I cannot see this relationship blossoming well.

We also see some changes in Fl’s life, both in career and comedy, and higher ups are taking notice of her talent and work ethics.

Title Later, I Laughed Spoiler
Ep 8 recap - spoiler below.
This episode starts out with the bf interested in purchasing balloons from a street vendor. The narrator continues into a detailed explanation on the involved process of making balloons. Plot wise, we see a turning point for our fl she she gets sick and cannot attend an important meeting at work. The true colors and aspirations of her boss is revealed. Her bar friends express their love for her by coming over and “taking” care of her. It’s pretty humorous. There are some heartfelt moments between her and the ml as he cares for her. When she returns to work, she is told that she will need to meet with the chairman and answer his questions from the meeting while she was sick. While researching the answers, she finds a better idea than her original and want to update her plan. Her boss says no because she she’s fearful it wouldn’t be received well. She not interested in success of the project, only approval from the chairman. At the meeting, the fl must decide. Episode ends with her having dinner with her bar friends at her place. Her BF, who thinks she might me still interested in him, comes over with the balloons we see at the beginning. As he tries to reach her by phone, he sees the ML and mistook him to be her new bf. He decides to release the balloons and leave. She comes to the window to see what the ML is looking at, he points to the balloons - ‘a guy released it’, a ‘a confession of love’. Everyone looks at the balloons as it floats away.

I feel like I need to rewatch this ep to understand better the message behind these balloons. May have missed a lot with the translation. However, it’s still another very well done episode. Here’s to hoping her future will be looking up like the rising balloons.

Can I also add that I love the interactions of her bar friends. They are filled with comedy. The scriptwriting so so good.
