For anyone wondering about the two year time jump, in the manga it was only 'a few months'. It makes a bit of a difference to me and i can't figure out why the director went for it because they were actually quite faithful to the original. 🤷‍♂️ But it is still one of the best KBL's ever produced.

About the kissing ... well, still better than a dead fish lip kiss right ? No matter who felt uncomfortable with a kiss, whether actors or director, they solved it perfectly!
