Agreed, its the best Thai BL I've ever watched and my favourite BL of 2025.
Yeah it’s understandable because Gelboys is way better than the shows you quote in terms of realness and emotions. But to each their own indeed.
As for Shine maybe it gets better afterwards but even if the setting was original, I personally found the first 3 episodes quite boring. This was a succession of confusing scenes with the couples being poorly built and having very little chemistry. But that's my own opinion. And I never rely on awards to determine my favourite shows :p
I've been waiting this BL for many years so I'm happy it finally comes out. However if this BL has really been filmed in 2023 then I'm afraid that its style and execution might feel outdated compared to all the other recent BLs we got since. But hopefully I'm wrong and this BL will positively surprise us !

I agree with you on the fact that one week is too short, but I still think that a month is too much. They should go for something like two weeks maybe. Anyway as viewers it's more about how packed the show is and how it pushes the candidates to interact and do stuff. For example in a dating show like "Single Inferno" the contestants stay only for 10 days, but as viewers we never get bored one second because we always see new things happening. Also the way episodes are directed and edited help to make the show dynamic.
I'm still at the beginning of His Man season 4 so I can't tell much about it, other than it was a mistake to put the candidates in different houses as it limits interactions between them. Otherwise the only issue I had with season 3 is that they made the episodes longer for no reason, as some of the dates were too long and therefore boring to watch. And I personally wouldn't want His Man to copy The Boyfriend, each show should keep its identity and find their own good pace and things to do to entertain viewers.
This season was not bad but quite boring tbh. It's not because season 1 was successful that they had to make them stay longer together in the house and make more episodes. Living one month together was already a lot. So expanding it to two months was useless imo, besides being very draining on an emotional level for the candidates. On top of this the show doesn't have any real dynamism. They had very few dates, wrote only two letters to each other in two months, had very little activities all together.
Also the first half of the season was focusing way too much on William and Izaya, and to me their interactions end up being very annoying and boring to watch. Beisdes leaving the candidates at home doing nothing while two go with the coffee truck needs to be changed. First of all I already disliked the coffee truck concept in the first season and thought it was boring and useless, so I hope they'll finally get rid of it next season. And secondly they need to make everyone busy everyday, I'd rather have a show lasting two weeks but with a lot of things happening rather than two months when the candidates stay home most of the time and do nothing.
Other than that the candidates of this season were endearing and I love how they all supported each other and emerged from the show stronger and more mature. I only hope season 3 (if it happens) will change the formula and make it more dynamic and more entertaining to watch.
Jira would have been better ending up alone or with Pheem, but not with Koh. Anyway overall this was a very nice and engaging bl, it's been a long time I didn't enjoy a GMMTV bl this much.

Plus they already had a scandal issue last year with ToGetHer (from the same production company) so I guess they wanted to avoid a new one this year. But the way they don't clearly explain it in episode 2 is so poorly executed, and the decision to bring back most of the same cast is questionable.
I've just watched episode 2 and it's so confusing, why do they explain only now that they had to reshoot the whole emission ?! Why not having a whole new cast then ? Or why don't they show us some snippets from the first version so we can understand the dynamics between the returning candidates ?
When in episode 1 they showed the rules saying that there'll be returning candidates, I thought they were talking about candidates from previous seasons. The way they tried to explain it in episode 2 is so bad, and the terrible editing didn't help. I feel very worried about this season...
I've only watched episode 1 so far, the cast looks interesting. Though I'm not a fan of the house divided in three parts, as I think it will limit the natural interactions and discussions among candidates. Also it takes away some of that group spirit of all living together under a same roof.

They alternate each year, once it's in spring/summer, once it's in winter. Season 1 was during spring/summer Season 2 was during winter Season 3 was during spring/summer and now Season 4 will be during winter
And I find it good this way, plus the winter setting can offer some beautiful and romantic scenery

I completely agree, season 3 is my favourite. And despite the episodes focusing a bit too much on Yeong Jun and Myeong Gyun drama, I preffered it over the cute love story of season 2 (which was still awesome) because season 3 felt more raw, closer to what gay men could experience and contestants were exploring a larger variety of feelings.
