Is there a similar series like Hometown cha cha cha...like which has a good buildup before confession
Try Meet Yourself. It’s a slice of life without a traumatizing event. There is romance, which develops over time - it is 40 eps. It’s a very relaxing show with beautiful cinematography.
Imo they should've picked a younger actress. She definitely looks old enough to be a high schooler's mom. We're…
I believe the FL’s make-up and wardrobe intentionally makes her look frumpy and older than her age. Until she decided to raise Hae Yi, she was an athlete and trained outdoors. Even currently, she doesn’t use sunscreen or have a good skincare regimen. Her mother, who ran a restaurant, died young leaving the FL in her early 20’s to support her brother, who has Asperger’s(?) and raise a 6 year old. Stress ages people prematurely. Take a look at the photos of any US President in the last 50 years both before and after they took office.
So how is this show in terms of love triangles & makjang-ish plots?
Love triangles: none with the adults, per se. (see below) FL’s niece/adopted daughter has two classmates vying for her affections: the first is her childhood friend who hasn’t spoken up and another classmate whom she must tutor. As far as the adults, two of the women with tutoring academy kids have adulterous husbands, although their marriages appear ideal to others, which is ironic in a rom-com.
Makjang-ish plots: a few. To this American, the educational system in this series is baffling. If your child has to go to a private tutoring academy for 4+ hours after spending 8 hours in school, either the teaching methods are inadequate or they are cramming more than what could be taught into the curriculum. There is a small social group of “elite” moms, two of whom wield enormous power over the tutoring academy. After the FL’s niece, Hae Yi, is admitted to a special pre-med type of program, they force the director to replace her with another student. The director makes up a rule saying Hae Yi was not eligible as she had only taken one math class and the other student had taken the whole series. The ML is outraged the director would bow to such pressure and tutors Hae Yi in his free time. The FL’s sister abandons Hae Yi and, to avoid stigma, the FL claims Hae Yi is her own child and her fictional husband runs a business in Manila. One “elite” mom posts that the two leads are having an affair causing extensive fallout. Another mom, who pushed her intellectually gifted eldest son into a total emotional and mental breakdown, is starting to think that he is out murdering students and faculty that the police now think is associated with some incident 8-10 years ago.
These are the most outrageous ones. It’s the complete opposite of Meet Yourself and Hometown Cha Cha Cha. The story is well-written, the plot is interesting, and the relationship between the two leads develops well.
True i just hated the perversion in his eyes when he was painting yinlou and it touched my upper limits when he…
Sun Tai Qing appeared to be concerned when he saw the emperor “help” Yin Lou kill her cousin. He’s with the emperor all the time and must see this behavior. I wonder if he will help remove him from power due to his murderous tendencies?
True i just hated the perversion in his eyes when he was painting yinlou and it touched my upper limits when he…
Pervert? I’d go much further than that. He’s a psychopath who stalked Yinluo for 10+ years after she helped him out by giving him a lantern in the dark. He then created this entire fictional fantasy love relationship between them.
I am thoroughly enjoying the interplay between the FL and ML ( as of Ep 18.) She knows he likes her but still cannot bring himself to express his feelings; yet she teases him just enough.
Now I’m wondering if the mother was traumatized in some flight. She doesn’t travel by plane at all and takes…
Fair point. Yet, shouldn’t the father step in and explain the mother’s behavior? However, that is no reason for her mother, a lawyer, to attempt to sell her daughter’s house. As the FL pointed out, it is illegal for the mother to do so.
Can someone who has watched up to 14 tell me if the female who likes ML gets problematic at all? Like unintentionally…
As of ep. 14, she does not. ML ignores her overtures and, at one point, gently tells her that it’s not going to happen. She seems to eventually get the message. Also, other comments posted indicate the two leads get together in ep. 17. I’m not sure how they would know that. It I don’t believe the writers could drag this out too much longer.
Even this is too good to be true but I still don't see any C-drama fans in Twitter mentioning about confirmation…
The other day I searched #lovebetweenfairyanddevil and found a short video of Wang Hedi in which he is asked a choice between two things and he goes left or right with his choice. One of the choices included Season 2 of LBFAD and a different show and he chose Season 2. Of course, this is not reliable or indicative of the future but it still gives me hope.
2nd male lead like FL but trust me there's no heavy love triangle Story is focused on main cast only They officially…
Happy ending but as many commenters noted, the end feels rushed…as in the last 5-7 minutes of ep. 36. Nevertheless, it is still worth it to watch. More recent posts indicate the possibility of a season 2.
This is the English translation.
