Heart-warming and tearful T^T
I went into this with zero expectations and even didn't pay much attention to dialogue in the beginning/reading the subtitles. But I can say that right now I am rewatching the film's opening before having even finished the film. This piece is so unexpectedly heart-wrenching and beautiful. It's not just a romance, in fact it's hardly that and more about rediscovering life's joys in the little moments, and journeying intimately alongside the 2 main characters and their blossoming relationship, between two 'strangers' into something deep and meaningful. It's so well-acted and flows naturally it genuinely makes you want to see them interacting more, and experiencing more together.
The acting is superb especially from 'A-Xiang' (the happy boy who always smiles and laughs) and the interactions overall are really wholesome and genuine-feeling if that makes sense.
Although some of the cuts were a bit choppy and the timing felt off at times, the cinematography was gorgeous and carried a nostalgic feeling that made you feel like you've experienced something similar, even if eg. you've never travelled to these places or gone on a road trip before as the characters did.
There was a lot of nuanced expressions and subtle gestures which progressed the story rather than throwing the plot progression into your face, and you can fully believe why the characters are now behaving the way they are, etc.
The flashbacks for the most part were not repetitive scenes but fresh new ones, which really left you wanting to see more of their little moments together :') Really really beautiful piece of film.
Highly recommend!

Far better than expected. Can't take my eyes off the fight scenes & interactions with the male leads
This is my first review I'm leaving for a Chinese drama....and my oh my, I did not expect to write this. Like at all. I thought this show was rly dry but NOW I'M OBSESSED(Spoilers only for ep.1)
(Also I'm a drama noob so this isn't speaking so much from experience but more so from an enjoyment factor)
At first, I put this on as background noise whilst focusing on my uni work, and the first episode sure didn't sell me. I barely glanced at it no more than 5 times, until our MC started putting on his face disguise, which I was like Oh, that's pretty neat. But before that, nothing rly interested me. I told my friend who asked that it was boring. LOL HOW WRONG I WAS
I had no idea what was happening but by episode 3 I was definitely not doing my uni work anymore. The two male leads completely got me absorbed and the acting is actually really mesmerising. Ep 1 and 2's CG was pretty subpar and had a few questionable moments but the fighting choreography from Ep 3 and onwards was surprisingly great and well shot, dynamic and just super cool. And it only got better and better, as soon as the show moved onto the two male leads (literally by the end of Ep.2 it's all about them) I was watching 80% netflix and 20% work....and now at Ep. 10 I've completely given up the concept of getting any work done whatsoever whilst I have this on 🤡🤡🤣😩 It's brilliant. It's actually brilliant.
And I may have just spoiled myself big time because I decided to go back and properly watch Episode 1 to finally understand the entire premise and plot of the show.... Let's just say my jaw is on the floor right now and I'm writing this review cause goddamn this just took the entire thing to the next level.... Maybe for me it's a bit more on the shock factor since I had no clue of the identity of either male leads for 10 frigging episodes 😂😂 and just after learning one backstory I think I realised who the second male lead is and I really can't cope 😂😭
All in all it's just getting so good and I was so wrong about this show. The first episode is actually good too, it's just that I didn't care enough to pay attention 🤡 Now I know what a dumb move that was. Excited to finish Episode 10 and follow along the growing plot. It has solid world-building and dynamics, sure lots of generic tropes but all in all super interesting and I can say I'm totally hooked 😂👏
Loving the 'eye acting' of the 'second' lead Gong Jun, like the ever so subtle wavering of his eyes conveys volumes and I replayed it a few times. Great eye expressions 👍 and Zhang ZheHan is a cutie lolol he lowkey looks similar to my ult. bias Mark Lee from NCT haha
The music could defo be worked on, the first ending song is rly 🙃 Not it, but I'm enjoying the main theme/the opening.
DEFINITELY WORTH A REWATCH. In fact I'll be re-watching the entire thing once I finish it 😌
