Yeah I really hope he does have a strong finish. He was great in the modern dramas but I feel xianxia requires more dramatic acting. Like Dylan Wang did not do well in Miss the Dragon but was freaking amazing in LBFD because of the criticism from MtD
I finally understand what has been bothering me with this drama. Despite enjoying it, there’s something missing. I realized that the love story isn’t very epic. I’m not sure if it’s because of the 40 episode rule so there’s no time to truly flesh out each character and relationship or the acting in itself. I love both leads but somehow they seem more like siblings or at most close friends. It doesn’t feel like they have that deep enduring love. For example the scene where Ajin jumps in after Ayin in the nether world, there’s no sense of desperation or profound loss like you would have for someone you love. The exact scene was in 10miles of peach blossoms when Ye Hua jumped after SuSu. His desperation can be seen on his face and the absolute devastation on his face at the loss of his wife was completely heart wrenching. Then the aftermath of that scene when he just cries and cries. That is how it’s done . All the “emotional” scene in this drama doesn’t feel very memorable….
