Let’s just stay quite and wait. Some things are coordinated to get people emotional and get reaction. Its been…
The thing is they don’t judge any cases fairly or even equally, which is a hypocrisy on its own (your guess is as good mine as to why some have it better and others worst). It’s like saying many C-citizen went to Japan and have probably taken similar scenic photos like the one ZZH did but why didn’t they get the deserved punishment as they seem fit? Make it make sense.
Some may argued, well he’s a public figure in the entertainment world so his punishment should be different blah blah blah. But I think it’s just an excuse tbh.

And don’t worry about anything else, I just wanted to say that it’s the narrative they want to portray of ZZH and what they want as the outcome, and as for CAPA, any sort of affiliation, regardless of whether it’s direct or indirectly related to the government, many C-citizens eats it up as law (especially ones who engages a lot in c-ent I suppose).

As I said before, I wish him well and that he finds a path out of this.

I’m just presenting what I found and I know about my own country and their ability to silent anyone without the need for factual justification or proven evidence. The antis and their hate campaign got what they wanted in the end and ZZH ended in the absolute worst case scenario as a celeb.

And it doesn’t even matter how many influential people are questioning the list because if people like Jack Ma gets silent for criticizing the government or that tennis player speaks out against a top government official for sexual assault… it doesn’t end well for anyone if someone starts to target these people because they think the government may have made a mistake.

It’s a reality you live in with an authoritarian government.

I hope he’s well and have the support system he needs to get through his day. It’s just sad how my country is becoming even more insular by the years…

I know many of you wish he’ll make a steady come back once things are cooled off a bit but, CAPA released their blacklist of artists and ZZH is included in that list, check their Weibo post: https://m.weibo.cn/status/4706766291992992?. So in conclusion, he’s like forever banned from the entertainment world with zero chance of any possible redemption. So so sad.

Is there at least a teeny bit of chance for him to make a comeback into the field? I don't want his career to…
Realistically, unlikely. No production or any entertainment entity will risk it in backing or hiring him as an actor again. Who knows what it will look like years down the road if he were an actor in another country but since this is China, the chance of him coming back at all is very low. The government essentially had marked him as unpatriotic, it’s pretty much a done deal when comes to his entertainment career. It’s just very sad :(.

The thing is, that incident shows that he does not, in fact, has a good head on his shoulders. It is really disappointing,…
I mean good doesn’t mean people aren’t going to make mistakes, dumb or stupid ones. Maybe I have a low bar of critiquing people on their goodness then. At this point, he might not make it at all since I just read they muted his online presence and have pretty much wiped out his social media accounts, both personal and official ones.
He really should have listened to his fans back when he posted this to have it taken down sooner rather than later. Even my own mother was shaking her head and felt exasperated on how an grown up adult man not knowing the significance of that shrine @.@.
Anyway, I hope he’ll learn and reflect well from this… who knows what the future may hold.

This is unfortunate. I got to know him through his Legend of Yunxi days and have followed him a bit since then. I understand the sentiment where some wanted to say it’s in the past or we should move on in order to heal and what not.
But what some people don’t understand is that the underlying issues or rather the core of the Chinese resentment relies mainly on the Japanese have never acknowledged or given an ounce of remorse of their past crime. Instead, they celebrated people who committed these crimes year after year…like a slap in the face as a reminder.
I mean, no country is perfect but if Japan had followed the example of how Germany responded after the fall of Hitler’s regime, perhaps things might have been different? Like for example, they built a really nice Jewish Memorial to honor those who are killed in the war and you know what they built next to it for Hitler, a parking lot where he was supposedly buried or something. Yeah, that’s how Germany showed his importance to the country- not much other than the utility of the space for people who wished to come see this memorial and want their car parked.
Acknowledgment and atonement are important for survivors to move on I believe. At least China doesn’t need to continued this resentment.
I do hope he’ll be given another chance for a comeback. He seems to have a good head on his shoulder and mistakes do happen, and there should be opportunities to reflect and grow in order to be a better person each day. All the best ZZH!
