I garuntee you will love the series. And the fl and ml have a very good chemistry. Better than that with brother Xiu. Initially, I didn't like the mains look. But trust me, they became my dream leads. They were so gorgeous together.

Me:- Yup. How can I be a drama queen. I am the cutest and the most charming lady in all of dramaland.


P.S. I am not so brave to watch an ongoing cdrama. It's not my cup of tea. Imma wait for it to end. Thanks for ur efforts...

P.S. I suggest Yang Yang for the ml. He did a great job at portraying Song Yan from Fireworks of My Heart. XJX and SY are quite similar in their personalities except XJX is not a kind man.

To those who have not read the novel, you are in luck because i will describe the characters for you.

Xie Jing Xing (the ml) is an unrestrained and demonically beautiful man with both wits and courage. Later, as an emperor when the ministers forced him to take concubines in his harem, he married their daughters/sons/granddaughters/grandsons to their political enemies. He had a very daring personality. He did things without a care for the world. Still, he loved the fl very much. He also took care of their child personally when the fl was in a comma.

Shen Miao (the fl) though not very beautiful(usually in novels, the fl is portrayed to be the most gorgeous woman of the era) was a smart and resourceful woman with an air of nobleness and magnanimity. She was ruthless to her enemies and even more to herself after her rebirth. She set fire to the ancestral house while being locked in there to escape from the marriage that her evil grandma and uncle's family cooked up. She even burned her hard to make it look realistic. While it took a while for her to open up to the ml, she bravely confessed about her past life to him. She was able to hold on to a city without an emperor while being pregnant and managed to buy the time off for the reinforcements to come.

All in all I hope the actors would be able to portray the complex characters well. I don't want to ruin my favorite novel.

A very nice drama. The villains were so funny. That "kneel on the durian" scene was my absolute favorite. The kiss scenes were nice too. And the ml is so handsome. His looks are totally my type. Everything was nice and cute except that darn ending. Uggg... so frustrating.
P.S. it was a happy ending but not the kind that I was expecting.

This is such an underrated work. Srly, it deserves more ratings. I myself binge watched this series till ep 20 and I absolutely love it. ppl who all are still wondering whether to watch it, three words, GO FOR IT!!

Remember fl's mother wanting fl to treat her like her biological mother? Now, you are asking her to remember the favors she bestowed upon the fl. Technically you are asking the fl to pay the mother back for raising her. Doesn't the reason sound flawed? Parents wants the best for their children regardless. But what her mom did completely crossed the line. The fl liked the ml even after 10 years. That proves their love was not some childish game. No doubt the fl should be filial to them but not in this form. Please you are better off asking for her life straight away (*sarcastic*).
Hear out my theory. So, fl's mother likes fl's brother the most. By marrying the fl to someone of an equal social status, she is preparing for the future scenario where the brother might need some help. That explains her first blind date partner being their long term family friend.

Finally someone mentioned that butterfly scene.. I get chills every time I recall that. It's so creepy.
