No one cares if you like or dislike the drama an opinion is an opinion but when you come on here causing drama and insulting others, people will tell you to stop. Almost everyone here would have been respectful to your opinion and discussed your issues with the drama civilly, but your were disrespectful and childish to everyone that replied, no matter if they were rude or respectful. All they get from you is 'Ooo well you must love the drama so much, go marry it or you should be getting paid or ooo are your feelings hurt?' or something to that effect. You sound like a brat. No one cares you hate the drama, no one cares about your opinion because you voice it like a brat, you are welcome to hate the drama and think it's the biggest poop since time began, that's FINE, just stop causing childish drama about your opinion in the drama comments. If you want to talk about why you disliked it in a respectful manner I'm sure others would be happy to converse with you otherwise just leave.

I find it rather amusing that you say you know what makes a good historical drama but actually gave no clue about real historical conduct. May I also say your message was insulting, no one has insulted you, yet you say people are tiny brained to enjoy this drama. Perhaps in future if you want to have a civil and respectful conversations with other BE civil and respectful first!

Exactly! I think in Korean dramas, people confuse intense and subtle acting with bad acting and think they know what makes a good or bad actor. In other words, if it's not a spunky poor girl or a b*tchy rich girl it boogles their little minds. Acting is more than stereotypes. Yeon Woo is one of the most brave characters I've ever watched. How she dealt with all the horrors that had happened to her, so not only elegant but so full of courage, it really annoys me people are too shallow to look passed the usual Kdrama types and enjoy something new, but their loss.

I think many people mistake reserved dignity as being a doormat and cowardly, I don't get it either. I thought Han Ga In did a wonderful job of a very confused, niave girl who had been hidden from the world her entire adult life. Her look of bewilderment suits the charcater, people just bypass reality for wanting perfect sometimes :/

Please spoiler your posts for anyone who hasn't seen this. That is a big part of the plot and you didn't hide it, it could really spoil it for anyone looking in the comments.

Well, if you are unwilling to try a movie again based on high and wrong expectations beforehand on your first viewing then there isn't really anything else to discuss. I've never heard this movie described as a full on horror, it gets put in horror a lot because it has no where else to go, but so do many movies that I wouldn't class as 'horror', it doesn't make me dislike them because I didn't get what I expected, I like to watch all movies with a open mind. I knew what to expect when I watched this back in 1999, the plot is not misleading nor does it give the impression it will be a straight horror movie. I have watched movies and hated them, watched them again and loved them, I'm always willing to give it another go, but if you feel that way about this movie perhaps it would be best to move on and stop discussing something you dislike so much and go and talk of something you do enjoy.

Perhaps you should also give it another watching when you feel awake as I feel you may have missed a big chunk of what makes this movie great.

I have no problem with our opinions being different, but you actually said you didn't understand why people like this movie, so I tried to explain why people enjoy it and why you were coming at it from the wrong angle, you said it was boring, no action , nothing happens, not horrifying. Why you were expecting action and full on horror I'm unsure but I tried to explain why many love this movie and that perhaps you shpuld look at it again without your high expectation of action, horror etc because I and many others can see it for a great movie, I never said you should like it just because of that, please do not twist my words... your opinion was based on a viewing in which you expected action etc so you watched this movie in the wrong frame of mind was my point, didn't think I'd have to be so blunt. But that's fine it you couldn't get what I was saying and just thought I was attacking you.

As I said you shouldn't watch it as a horror, or an action, toture etc movie. This is a slow burning psychological thriller. It doesn't need action, I disagree it is no where near boring and most movie critics would agree with me, it's considered a masterpiece of slow burning thriller cinema. If you can't watch something without action and something happening every five mins, that's kinda sad :/ But this movie is amazing if you watch it for what it is.

You should not watch it as just a 'horror' movie, but as a psychological thriller. If you don't get what is horrifying about a woman you thought you loved, being SO mentally gone that she cuts out peoples tongues and keeps them as slaves, making them drink her own vomit and if you displease her by loving a member of your family she'll break into your house, stick pins in your eyes and cut your legs off with piano wire all while having a joyus look of glee on her face, mate there is something wroing with you O.o
