This drama is more than about a wife having to settle her husband's debts after his disappearance, it is about a woman finding her worth and standing in life. If you are looking for cute puppy love, this drama is not for you.
It follows 3 women, each navigating their life in a society that is unkind to women in their 30s. It shows that a woman is more than just about marriage, about being a wife and mother. A woman has her own goals, careers and dreams to pursue.
This drama portrays the resilience of woman and I really appreciate that message.
Visually stunning, great CGI, amazing cast but the script did not do it justice. It is overall still a drama worth watching but it failed to let me believe in the love between the leads which cause their trails and sacrifice to have no impact on the viewer.
The script tried to squeeze in too many couples leaving no room for proper development for each couple. A couple can go from strangers to lovers in 2 eps and by the 3rd episode they are willing to sacrifice their lives for each other... Too fast, no depth, no impact.
The drama could have removed some side couples and put more focus on the Lead couple as well as Ya Ya and A Lai. Ya Ya and A Lai made such a good couple with good chemistry that it's such a waste it was not developed more.
The show is set at the intersection of different worlds (Jianghu, Palace and the Modern) is unique and a joy to…
Personally, I can't quite come to terms with the concluding 2-3 episodes. To have spent so long building up the brotherhood between the MLs and then having it be undone by a confused heartbroken WJL seems quite slip-shot and disappointing.
Wang Jia Luo's actions in the last 2 eps just undoes any character development he had and shows that he is the same old rigid narrow-minded person.
It does not make sense to me of why the scriptwriters went down this route as the other 3 "inheritors" showed great character growth.
The show is set at the intersection of different worlds (Jianghu, Palace and the Modern) is unique and a joy to watch. The script and casting was great and Lucky was such a hidden MVP. I would have wished if the drama delved more into Zhuo Bu Fan.
One can never comprehend the full truth as it stands on a mountain of convoluted emotions, complicated human relations and personal vendetta.
This drama deserves more attention and better ratings. It is very out of the ordinary and deeply explores human relations, emotions and what one can do for love, jealously or greed. All the actors did the script justice and allows the viewer to see from their perspective.
On the ending: If it was not for the detectives obsession of finding their "truth", the leads might have reach their happiness sooner. But well, that may also be a bittersweet lesson that trying to meddle with the truth only muddies it more.
A decent revenge drama with sweet romance. The main couple's romance plot is well written, sweet and believable. The FL's character arc is well thought out, she wants revenge for what has happened to her but she does not fall into blind rage but her kindness and intelligence still shines through at every turn.
The female villain (Luo Xue Er) does a brilliant job and you will really dislike her. However the Prince does not match up to her standard and his motives for hating the ML is not as convincing. Not sure was it because of the drama length constraint, but the treasure map arc was not well utilized.
All in all, this is still a decent drama to binge watch.
Watched the first few episodes and it exceeded my expectations and I'm looking forward to the rest of the drama!
The team managed to find 2 actresses with very similar looks and vibes so that the swap is not jarring to the viewer. The actresses have also done a magnificent job to make the transition believable. Wei Zhe Ming fits his role very well as a General, finally get to see him as a ML in a period drama!!
The first 2 eps might be a little rushed but believe it might be due to having to quickly set the stage so to proceed onto the next arc as this only has 24 episodes.
IMO, on the aspect of a face swap revenge drama, the first few eps have already done a way better job compared to another cdrama that just recently ended.
This is a story of transgressions, revenge, healing and forgiveness. A grieving mother and a man with a broken soul, both kind individuals that were put in situations that forced them to seek revenge for what they have lost. Cha Eunwoo and Kim Nam Joo had good chemistry and their acting made viewers understand their plight and pain.
The drama carefully builds up the momentum and gave us a satisfying finale. It's evident that the team properly paced the story from start to end. I have seen so many dramas that spend so much time creating the suspense just for the final twist to fall flat and feel rushed.
A really well-made drama that is worthy of your time!
Completely random but an unique interesting watch. Its a short drama so its easy to binge in a day. Really enjoy how the ML (Cheng Lei) really embodied being a husky throughout the drama.
Its a short, lighthearted drama so don't take it too seriously and just enjoy the drama.
I'm loving the several outfit changes that the leads (especially Wu Geng) have! With each "level up", Wu Geng gets a new outfit and hairstyle that fits the new him.
This is a captivating watch, can't wait to see what happens next to Wu Geng! The first 2 eps is more foundation/background, the next 4 eps is more in line to the kind of storytelling we are used to.
For the sheer amount of CGI they have to do in a single battle, the effects is great and blends nicely to the show's style. Can really feel the director & production team's dedication as they really bothered to give each character a distinct look, costume and screen time.
The xuanhuan genre might not be everyone's cup of tea but this show is by no means a bad one. Give it a watch!
Such a hidden gem! The rating does not do the show any justice. The cases are interesting and even though each ep is 12mins, the story flows well and does not feel short or rushed. I have seen dramas with 30-40+ eps that does not pace their story as well as this.
Yi Da Qian needs to have more lead roles, his great acting and charm brings the story to life. The hidden surprise was the Shadow Guard (Gui Shangqi)! Never known him before but he was so natural and had great comedic timing.
IMO, the weakest link would be the FL, she disguises as a man but does not try to behave like a man. Her mannerisms is still very feminine (eg. being cute & pouts), and she tends to overact.
Overall you should still give this drama a try, it would be a pity to miss this.
Finally got down to watch this drama and it is truly beautifully made. Love it when a drama actually gives every character a proper story arc and they do play a role in pushing the story forward. Props to the cast - Dilraba, Wu Lei, Zhao Lusi, Liu Yu Ning, Yi Da Qian!
There are several couples and somehow I care for all of them, be it the main leads or supporting cast. The show deals with more than 1 plot line concurrently but it does not feel convoluted but all ties nicely together.
The scriptwriters gave the antagonist a proper background for why they do what they do and not simply do evil just because the story needs a villain. That is the mark of a good storyteller.
This drama is worth a watch, in fact it is a good drama to binge watch. A mix of crime solving, mystery and brotherhood with some lighthearted moments thrown in.
While I feel that the pacing and editing of the drama is a bit disjointed, overall the story line is interesting. We follow Li Bing and team as they solve a number of strange cases that ultimately ties to a bigger conspiracy. With each case, we get to know each member's personality and strengths better.
Happy to see Wei Zhe Ming in period dramas and it's always a treat to see Ding Yu Xi act, he really personified a cat really well. The "meows" are so cute!
If you understand Chinese, do not skip the last episode's ending song! There's some extra text which appears that ties up some loose ends and gives some additional info.
I hardly ever watch romance/revenge centric dramas as I find it tends to become cringey and nonsensical. However, this drama did an amazing job keeping the audience hooked from beginning to end.
The writers made sure to keep viewers at the edge of their seats, giving the occasional satisfying "pay back" all whilst setting up for the grand finale. There are some twists but not too much that would make the plot convoluted. I also greatly appreciate that they didn't rush the ending and gave what the audience wanted to see.
All the actors from the leads, villains and supporting did an impeccable job. Park Min Young did well portraying a woman who took her destiny into her own hands.
Interesting drama on power, love and revenge. This has more twists and turns than a roller coaster which I quite enjoy.
Chen Zhe Yuan's acting is great as usual and Johnny Zhang really did well with the crazed king role. It's also great seeing the female characters being intelligent and standing their own ground in the show.
The first 6ish episodes might start off a bit slow and some parts are not very logical, but hey we are talking about a body swap palace love/revenge drama here, so I'm going give them some slack.
All in all it was an engaging drama and it's worth giving it a try!

Its the classic rich family business politics + rich mother not approving of son's GF story, so if that's your cup of tea, you would enjoy this.
The last 3 episodes were quite dramatic though LOL, but well its under the melodrama genre for a reason.
It is overall still a drama worth watching but it failed to let me believe in the love between the leads which cause their trails and sacrifice to have no impact on the viewer.

Like how they are slowly developing the relationship, its so sweeet!
