?? i mean jimin def deserves a good person. but jiyeon didnt treat him bad for u to say he deserves someone better…
Tbf, Ji Won was interested in him but dropped since he wasn't interested.
But ngl he is the most real person in this imo. I like how he pays attention to details for the person he is most interested and stuff. I don't think it matters if anyone else is able to appreciate his charm since he is only 1 direction dedicated
Btw why does Seung Won's Dad feels like his whole family is a burden. Even eating outside also not happy, blaming his son. Does he have a mistress outside or what? Or his family already knows he likes boys and Dad isn't happy about it?
Late to the party but Ep 1 got me hook. FL is kinda essential to the plot for plot holes despite many says she is annoying. Will see how it ends for now though it's China so I obviously know there is no real BL and have heard about the ending
Yes, happy ending. All happy ending.Spoiler below if you wanna know what kind of happy ending they all have
FL dad got together with Ziqiu's mum, making FL and Ziqiu kinda officially become step siblings (Family)
FL and ML are a couple, making ML's dad FL's father in law although she has always already regard him as another father of hers. All these people have 1 family portrait at the last episode
A lot of wonderful things has been said about this drama and I couln’t agree more! But if there’s one thing…
Twinkling Watermelon ain't overrated imo
Sure, maybe ending could have been less rush but overall is really well done.
There's 1 similarity these 2 dramas have in common that I thought some WLGYT would enjoy the same for TW and vice versa: The child's realisation to parents' story
High quality film with good music. Great setting and scenery the actors were in to film this.
A few downsides I have are that - it's short despite having high quality cinematography (would have been better if it's a longer BL due to out of place cuts just to fit the short time frame per episode)
- some scenes to scenes are out of place, making me not too sure what story it is telling especially when I first started watching this. For example, one moment they are picking limes/lemons then the next moment they are already in the water for unknown reason. The continuity raises question mark for me. It gets better in the later episodes however.
- couldn't really catch the story in the first 2 episodes especially since overall it's short with average around 10 mins per episode minus credit scenes for 7 episodes in total.
- poor fonts used. Some words are hard to read, the opening and ending quotes are very important to the story.
Episode 1 to 5 are mainly interactions while Episode 6 onwards are the real deal. The interactions between the 2 MLs were lovely to watch. Great BL, somewhat lacking storyline due to out of place cuts, but overall I do catch what this drama is telling, especially in the later episodes onward.
Will be finishing it, but ngl I lost interest. Have been putting the recent episodes on play while multitasking on something else with my other device...
Wanted to like it due to Parker but the plot slowly and eventually become like Meh...
What a pity, Taiwanese BL used to be the best for me but recent ones look like Japanese, Korean BL are taking the lead
Congratulations it's the highest rated show (still yet to watch it..)
If you like Twinkling Watermelon, you may highly like this and no, not because they are very similar but because of the part where the child's realisation of parents' story
Speaking from recently completing Twinkling Watermelon and I absolutely love both. I partially dropped Twinkling Watermelon in 2023 for idk what reason. Almost missed the gold
how did moon so ri and park hae joon not get any baeksang nomination ☹️
All 4 should have been nominated, but if I were to pick, I would still pick Bo Gum and IU NOT because they are more popular, but because they are not married and have no kid(s) so acting like these give them a plus point as I could feel the pain of being a parent despite them not being "actual" parents. They nailed it.
I do agree Hae Joon is more prominent though since he have more scenes as compared to Bo Gum and also did a really splendid job on Gwan Sik character
Hate to be the odd one out but I am 6 episodes in and I genuinely do not get how and why the score is that high.…
As mentioned yourself, genre issue.
I initially watch this because of Bogum and IU combination but I didn't like this because of them, so no: High rating ain't because of them, in fact it's the whole story telling package. No doubt that these 2 brought views to the show but they aren't the only ones whom sold this show IMO.
The gold of the show is life lesson learnt when you are able to see yourself in any of them at any point of time. It's a matter of realisation. If you get it you will get it and if you don't, you don't. Don't need to force yourself.
There is no drama meant for everyone as you are not the target audience of this drama. Move on, as generally Asians in their late 20s and above will be able to find the gold in this drama.
I think gwanshik's death was so cruel and unfair to his character. yes i know this is a drama and slice of life.…
At least he died while witnessing his daughter's success, his wife's success. Not everyone gets to die with less "regret"
This also creates the impact of how we would need to cherish our parents while they are still around, and to do something for them if you want to while they are still alive, and while you are still able to.
Also, men usually passed before women despite being same age or slightly younger, and plus, he was the breadwinner where he wouldn't be able to take care of his health as well as compared to the rest of his family, which makes this very, very relatable.
It truly reflects the mortality rate of Men and Women since my Grandpa passed before my Grandma, and my Dad passed before my Mum.
But ngl he is the most real person in this imo. I like how he pays attention to details for the person he is most interested and stuff. I don't think it matters if anyone else is able to appreciate his charm since he is only 1 direction dedicated
Nice background music used too
His anxiety, worries and upset all gone after seeing SW and his face.
Seung Won so cute

Rating ain't high because of main actress(es) but the realisation that the drama is speaking to us imo.
