The ML in the novel is abusive towards all women,from FL, maids, courtesans, and even to his female cousin. These are some incidents from the novel that stood out to me. *when he saw a fan that was given to the FL from another man, he blew up and choked the FL * in her druken state, the FL lost her temper and cursed him, he then slapped her twice *his female cousin betrayed the family, and he slapped her so many times, that her face was a bloody mess *his angry outbursts would lead him to curse and hit the maids *he treats all his courtesans and concubines like objects. The FL only agreed to be with him, cause he saved her father. So in a way, he did not force himself on her, that would be rape, and that would never be acceptable, even for a novel. She agreed willingly, but lived in constant fear cause of his temper. None of these points will be relevant cause the drama won't follow it, cause censorship won't allow it. I think the one aspect the drama will follow the novel will be the ML wanting to claim the FL, against her wishes. I trust Liu Xueyi 's acting skills. He plays dominant and ruthless characters so well. He and TSY have such expressive eyes! Both are great actors!

yeah, I don't think the drama is going to follow the novel. the screenwriter had changed all the names, that's how much she wants to separate the drama from the novel. and some things in the novel will never pass censorship in China. so it's best that the drama does not follow the novel closely. give us viewers some elements of surprise rather than look at novels for spoilers. 😁
I love it too! the directors sure know how to film. the shots were done beautifully. from the sets to costumes, you can tell this is a highly budgeted drama, and the production crew put so much efforts into the details. it sure will be my most anticipated drama!
it finally wrapped! 5 months is such a long time. I hope lxy can get much needed rest. TSY seems to be always the last to wrap. but so excited to see her wrap tomorrow. she really deserves a long rest
