I don't necessarily think the ending was that terrible, yes it's a sad and abrupt ending but I think it is or was pretty common in Taiwanese dramas so maybe I'm used to it. My 6.5 rating is more about the abruptness of the budding romances.
1. XHT barely spoke to YXG and only started to stalk him because he felt bad and then saw how pitiful YXG was. YXG works hard, sure, it's COULD be an attractive quality but for XHT to suddenly fall in love with YXG after hating on him over his... Pitifulness? Maybe I skipped watched too much and missed something here.
2. LZG's sudden acceptance of SBX and the deep love also felt very abrupt. While this couple, I definitely appreciated more.
3. This could be me just being extremely superficial, but for YXG to have girls saying he's super handsome/hot...?
YXG barely speaks to anyone, he's thin to the bones (I get that he's poor and not eating much, so it's casted right), he is constantly shuttling between school, work and home and has no social life so I can't register how he is super handsome and attractive for girls and XHT to fall for him with a snap of the finger.
Please let me know if I missed parts because of my skip watching (by 10s) that I missed some pivoting moments to the budding romances I mentioned above.
After they got together and ignoring all of what I mentioned above, it's a great drama but I can't overlook the snap of the finger love. I even think that the last episode for me, isn't as weird or terrible as just randomly falling for someone.
liked this more than I thought I would because of the reviews! yes there are plot holes and there were some missed opportunities with the idol life, also felt like there should be more with Simone.
but! I really liked the chemistry and it was really cute, sexy at times and fun watch. it’s an easy watch! 8.5/10 from me
I read the web novel after watching this and I just want to say - while they left out a lot of very visual scenes, the love, jealousy and insinuations are extremely on point. it’s not a situation of BL > Bromance. No way in the world is this Bromance.
am a huge LJS fan (just saw him at a fan meeting IRL couple days back) and realised that I never got to watch W. on it now but somehow feeling like it could have been a miss anyway?
the amount of monologues, dialogues… and as much as I love LJS, I feel that his acting could have been better here? just ended episode 5 - felt like his acting was a little flat, unsure if it’s the overload of lines or just that I’ve watched him better.
i agree that the drama is enjoyable (for now) but I’m starting to fall asleep in parts of it, or find myself scrolling my phone. does it get better or worse?
It would have one of the best drama of 2023 if they stoped at episode 24.They didn’t have to drag it to 40 episode.…
I think 28 would have been good. When Fan Xuan took over, that could have been the great ending. But hey, they made 40 episodes happen out of one person's daddy issues lmaoooo
Aww shame about your review - so frustrating when that happens. Is funny - everyone is so different, I am still…
I still liked it! it wasn’t a bad drama, just felt that there was a lack of attachments to the characters unlike others such as LLTG. I attribute this probably to the 7 lifetimes so it’s a constant introduction and reintroduction of the storylines and characters.
i loved the casting though, despite YCY having room to improve.
Sigh, accidentally scrapped my long review, can't be bothered to retype it all.
8/10 - it was a "pretty ok" drama. Casting, music and visual effects were the plus points. 7 lifetimes was part of the plus but due to it being 7 different stories, the need for introductions for each lifetime also became a little bit of its downside. It was ok, not captivating, did not feel as attached to the characters.

I need more of this
