Damn what a colossal waste of good chemistry in the first 10 episodes. I looked forward to watching each episode…
+1
I didn’t mind the shooting parts and didn’t mind them just working hard for their dreams. it felt like a light version of lighter & princess but what is with the ending ??? there should be another episode?
the mom trope felt like it was picked up and dropped off so quickly. the whole nie xinghe issue was a colossal waste of time. the uncle’s copyright too…
what a waste of what could be!!
I’ve to say that I still liked their relationship, while it wasn’t as romantic or cheesy as it was in the beginning, it felt like it just turned into a slice of life drama which I didn’t mind. except that everything else was everywhere else!
first 15 episodes were a 9 for me. dropping it to a 7.5, only keeping it above 7 because I really like the leads… ugh. again, what a waste.
Sadly, this one turned out to be similar to "she and her perfect husband ".It could've been much better 😥 😔…
the sick mom isn’t even the worst of it all - the ‘I’ll have surgery if you break up with him’ literally made my eyes roll back into my head. it went so well in the beginning and even when the shooter scenes started I still enjoyed it but oh my god the mom trope………… I hope this trope ends with 22…………….
Skip watched the first time and watching it for real the second now! Realising that I’m getting SUPER into it at around episode 20. A few markers where it increased my interest for those who are curious and/or have given it up:
- Episode 1 (HAH because XZ and WYB) - Episode 10-ish - Episode 20
I won’t spoil what’s happening in these episodes but it really does get less confusing and lengthy over time. especially for those who are less interested in Xianxia. It takes many episodes for you to get familiar with all the characters and background so I get why the ‘intro’ takes that long.
I think this is also one of her best for sure, as we get to see Shaoshang during a very long journey so there…
Agreed! While HL also showed her growth, it was very different from LLTG. I was blown away. Held off watching LLTG due to the length but the length is exactly what made it so good and allowed for character growth.
- Watched The Long Ballad - Watched Hidden Love - Fell in love with ZLS - Watched LLTG - Fell in love with ZLS even more
This is probably her best work IMO. First half or so where she’s so adorable and wonky and the second half where she’s so emotional, calm and stable.
Left out two pointers
- Picking up Who Rules The World - Running back to watch LLTG again
by my drama math, I’ll be done in a day or two.
I think it might. maybe it might. will it?

^ that’s all you need to know to know to NOT WATCH THIS EPISODE. Toxic mom trope happened.
