Preferred Season 1 and would have preferred more emphasis on diseases or operations rather than the politics but it was still good and I see why they chose what they did. Kept hoping a Saki descendant was going to walk by him in the end or anything other than the direction they went but oh well, sad and depressing is good too.
I was rewatching this because of the movie coming up, and it's such a great show in general, but suddenly remembered how terrible the last three episodes of the first season are. The acting and production is all still high tier, it's not that, it's the plot. The entire problem at the heart of the show could have been resolved if anyone had just taken five minutes to explain what triage is. It's the only blemish in an otherwise fantastic series.
Just finished episode 37 and after a whole series shaking my fist in frustration at Tokimasa, I'm actually feeling kind of bad for him now. 38 seems like it's going to be a tearjerker. Also, I hate that Hina isn't in the show anymore. She was the best Kamakura-waifu
Oguri Shun and Koike Eiko's performances in this series have really impressed me, particularly in this later half. The whole cast has been very solid, very few complaints. I was on the fence at the very beginning but I've been completely won over. The rather lackluster Genpei War aside, this has been a very enjoyable drama. I'm itching to rewatch it after it finishes.
Just started on a whim yesterday since I never watched Japanese historical series / taiga. I wonder why the low…
I didn't care for the first few episodes but I've actually really liked it so far so i'm not sure why the low ratings either. I'm not sure if I would recommend this as your first taiga drama though. If you've already started it, may as well continue if you're liking it but I would recommend Sanadamaru or Tenchijin. Those are both pretty enjoyable. Much more light-hearted than this one is, though.
It's good for what it is, a vehicle for three new idol actresses. It's funny and zany but also a little awkward in it's skin, particularly the three leads. I recommend it if you're an AKB fan, it's comfy even if you're not, though
I'm currently watching Kamakura dono no 13 nin and kept thinking Yae looked familiar but couldn't place her. then BAM, Legal High. Strange I didn't realize it earlier. She's charming as always in it, of course.
Very pleasant and enjoyable. Was expecting a bigger story with a bit more character development but it's more of a slice of life kind of thing which is good, too. If you like chill movies you can have on in the background and still enjoy, this is a good one.
I have finished episode 29. It picks up regarding a more serious atmosphere around episode 20. Afterwards it gets…
Great to hear! Except for the Gempei War parts lol. I appreciate you letting me know. I'll stick with it then and look forward to getting where you're at. Thanks!
Very pleasant drama, good cozy time. I found the later half weaker than the second half and the main actor, Iwata Takanori, I felt was on the weak side but overall certainly an enjoyable experience. I recommend!
I just finished episode 2 and I have to say I was really disappointed by the comedic tone the show has, even though I should have expected it with how they usually do historical dramas. I really wanted something more serious and maybe even a little gritty, like Sekigahara, but *SIGH* ah well. That said, it's really not bad, so far. Certainly entertaining. Hopefully I'm not more disappointed as the show goes on.
