Not gunna lie, I'm kind of shook by the acting in the second episode. The chemistry between Preem and Mike is intense, almost wish they were paired in a full series.
Overall, I think it ended up pretty great and I liked it. Loved the chemistry between Mew and Gulf! I have my reservations about the relationship between Tharn and Type in general, so it isn't my favorite pairing ever, nor is the storyline my favorite but overall I felt it was an above-average series. The actors themselves really pulled some amazing things from what they had to work with. I was blown away by the depth the actor who played Llong was able to deliver in the character, I didn't want to feel for him because what he did literally had no words but it was almost hard not to and that was all the actor that played him. It was gut-wrenching watching the way he portrayed the ending, you just wanted to get him so help! I'm glad I watched it all the way through for sure.
I'm so unbelievably annoyed by who is likely to end up together. I can't stand Sib. His character is the embodiment of some of the tropes I hate most in BL. I'll also say that the writing isn't very good, I spent a good portion of the series confused about what was going on and why things were happening. It could also be the release schedule throwing things off, I'm not sure why they made that decision.
I'll add that I also love so much that they're showing two very different couples, at two different points in…
Wow, thank you! That's honestly such a lovely compliment! I've been around, but I haven't had much to say about some of the series going on right now lol and one in particular I felt like I kept being really critical and it might annoy people so I've left off commenting about it XD
I know people dont like the whole "Im not gay, I only like you" trope but can you really be mad when they both…
Yeah, what people who get mad at that, or don't like that, don't understand is that there's so much fluidity to sexuality. I think labels are silly anyway. If you want to call yourself something, that's one thing, but nobody else should put a label on you haha plus I think this world would be such a better place if people were just open to love period. I would consider myself straight, but if I happened to fall in love with someone from the same sex I wouldn't cut myself off from the possibility of pursuing love just because they're my same gender. That's so silly.
They sort of said the same thing for HIStory3. I think it's because they are looking for interesting and engaging…
I agree with this. I also think they don't want to promise anything without having everything in order, like funding. I think they do a good job of waiting to say they're going to make a project when it can actually be seen to fruition. Unlike some that say it'll happen, even tease it and it falls through the cracks because the planning wasn't well done.
After HIStory party2, the official held a tea party for fans. The producer answered some questions asked by fans.1.…
I hope they're able to continue the series, the whole team does such a good job on these. I think season one, though it gets a lot of flack now, was good. It had a rocky start because they had zero budget, which meant they weren't able to develop the storylines as fully but I think it was a good first attempt. You can really see the flourish of potential when Crossing the Line came out though, and they've knocked this out of the part every time since. Thank you for sharing this! Also I can totally believe C and W had major chemistry form the beginning, it shows.
Weien and Xuan Zhi are the most perfect pairing. The casting directors behind HIStory are always so great at finding…
I'll add that I also love so much that they're showing two very different couples, at two different points in their relationships even though they both started off around the same time. Sun Bo was always confident and sure about what he wanted, and he went after it and had a partner who was open and experienced (which made it easier). YXG shows how it's ok to be nervous, and your partner should be understanding and supportive even if they desperately want to move things forward like Hao Ting lol if they really love you they'll wait until you're ready for things to progress. I also like that they show this realistically. YXG doesn't not want to be with Hao Ting, he's just scared. He's feeling just as many feelings of attraction, but his inexperience is holding him back and that's a totally normal situation. You can still feel hot and heavy about someone, and be scared to take the final plunge. I also think Hao Ting characterized really well too, he's a young man with a healthy sexual appetite I'm sure lol so him already knowing he wants to move things forward but can't must be semi-torturous haha I think it's realistic that they show him trying to continue to initiate things, but also backing off without being accusing or upset. Like at the end when they were in his room on the computer, and how he simply just switched the conversation so YXG wouldn't feel pressured or upset. It's also great that they show him wanting to do things right and not being afraid to ask questions, or show that he doesn't know what he's doing with his friends. He even wanted to ask LZG LOL This was so long but there's just so much about this series I love, I can't help it. Can't wait to see how this is resolved, or what happens next episode!
Weien and Xuan Zhi are the most perfect pairing. The casting directors behind HIStory are always so great at finding the pairs with the best chemistry together, even if you watch Weien and Xuan Zhi outside the series you can tell how comfortable and at ease they are with each other. Hao Ting and Xi gu kill me every episode! This is honestly one of the best BL released this year. There's so much about it that deals with real emotion and situations, and the portrayal by all the actors is ace. Watching it every week has been such a treat, definitely the series I most look forward to when it comes to updates.
The couples I'm most excited for right now are Bon/Duen and Ram/King. I think this will be a fun series, ever since I read the synopsis I was hoping we'd actually get it, so I'm happy it's really happening. Does anyone know if the novel has been translated?
I dropped MODC last week and I saw the scene you're talking about and tbh, it made me feel...... uncomfortable…
That makes sense, I get it. Personally I watch for the development and human aspects of the love story. Them falling in love is the whole point to me. I'm also a sucker for the right chemistry. I'm a big reader and my genre of choice is romantic fiction as well because I love the love story. I'm not sure why we're talking about this though lol The point I was making, was basically what @anchoremore wrote below, people aren't watching it for the storyline, they're watching it to ship the actors. It's less about the story as a whole and the quality of the production/acting which is unfortunate.
