Selective Speaking, I'll speak when I want to. This is a conscious decision and done intentionally.
Selective Mutism, I can't speak when I want to due to anxiety. This is not a conscious decision. a person has no control over this.
this is like comparing a person who pees in the bed while SLEEPING, vs a person who is awake and decides... I don't feel like getting up, so I'm gonna lay here and pee in the bed. π
please watch the beginning episodes where her mother tells her to never speak again, to appease her sister who couldn't hear or speak after the car accident.
she was speaking to her mother in the bathroom.
she has selective speaking, meaning she chooses not to speak
not
selective autism, which would mean she is physically inhibited by anxiety to speak.
she is making a conscious choice not to speak. that's why she told her sister, I'll speak when I want to not when you tell me to. I person with selective mutism doesn't have that choice.
ignore the low rating and watch it for yourself. it's a good mini series, good acting, good story, I'd love to see the 2 FL's in a regular drama. both are beautiful and good actresses
Non- speaking people do tend to not want to speak after learning sign language. Talking no longer comes naturally…
she is so used to it. it seems it no longer bothers her that she doesn't speak. even telling her sister, I'll talk when I'm ready, not when you tell me to. I think her not talking has also gave her a sense of control over her own life, now.
I just don't know what to say about this drama. they really wrote it well. you don't know what to expect next. no drag, no filler. just well calculated scripting. I can sense the side stories leading into ML's story somehow. .can't wait to see what's under that rock.
Netflix needs to apologize by releasing the rest of the episodes... lol
Hee Joo's mother's ex-husband is in the hospital. Hee Joo is their daughter. Later, she remarried with the rich…
just to clarify previous question. this secret identity that she keeps mentioning is that she is an adopted daughter not the 2nd biological daughter? got it
that would be sad. they're focusing too much on the villains instead of the mains personal growth. as viewe6we are tired of being depressed by the series. joy and growth are are equally entertaining
