Very good choice for the first guide! Yamashita san is my favorite asian actor (and i don't really know why I added asian). i'm not able to say that an actor is good or not, but i'm pretty sure that this man, through his characters, always attracts me. I'd rather him in serious dramas, or on the contrary, in very funny ones. My favorite character is definetly Akira, but I really enjoyed him in Ending planner and Code Blue. And he was delightful in Kurosagi (which would have deserved a better ending, imo). I was disappointed by Buzzer beat, where I found him dull and uninteresting.
What I like the most about Yamashita san is his voice, especially in ending planner. I like to listen to him speaking quietly, it makes me feel so well. I like his music too, but to me he is a far better actor than a singer.
I totally agree with you about the importance of music in dramas. The first time I was aware of OST was with the Liar Game series (always so good). My favorite one is definetly Kageya OST (but what didn't I like in Kageya?) and ending song. I pretty like Mikeneko Holmes no Suiri OST too.
I do like a lot of ending songs, which will forever be associated with dramas in my heart, like Tsuki no Koibito (Love rain), Zettai Kareshi (though I didn't like this drama)or lately Strawberry on the Shortcake (Abba's songs don't have the same taste since this drama). At first listening, I sometimes find ending song uninteresting, but most of the time, I totally fall for it long before the end of the drama.
But I had totally forgotten about Hana Kimi's OST, and I barely remember it even with your links. strange...
ah! and I'm using Kagi no kakatta Heya ost while running in front of my TV...

Thanks for asking.
My avi : it's a view of an art work of artist Buren, a kind of hut with walls and roof made of wood and colored plexiglas (in Lille art Museum). I really like this work, you can walk inside, and the colors are different from each point (+ they are different when the sun is shining or not). here is a link (but sorry it's in french, so maybe the only interest for you is the photograph): http://www.musee-lam.fr/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Daniel-Buren.pdf
It seems you like art too, am I right?

Thanks for sending friend request. you're right, we have same taste when talking about dramas, though you are quite a bigger "dramavore" (don't know if the word exist in English...). I like your life goal, you have very good taste about actresses as well. Horikita is my fav one too, I always find her so good in every of her dramas. Especially in Nobuta and Tokujo Kabachi! Nice pics and ganbatte ne!
Don't worry, your special recommendation was so good that people finally wanted to see it. thanks for having recommended it, it was a heartwarming drama with some very good scenes. Makes me smile and cry a lot.
Tamayama-san was great as usual, his story was my favorite one. and not only because he is so cute...
I agree about Ninkyo Helper : a very very very good drama. fisrt i was sceptic about the strange plot, but it is really amazing. I just want to add that even if you don't like yakuza related dramas (like me), you will certainly enjoy this one (+ starring Yamamoto Yusuke !!!)
I haven't seen the others, but I'll add Dare yori mo Mama wo Aisu, and Shiroi Haru on my PTW list.
thanks for the recommendations!
Ah.;; and I really like Abe Hiroshi.
Really loved and enjoyed it though I cried a lot. Definetly one of the best (maybe the best) I've seen so far.

don't know if it's low rating, but I give a high score to dramas with good messages and/or really strong stories. Plus I am way to much disapointed by romance in J-dramas, that's why I never give a 10 to such ones. on the other hand, rating high dramas you have really enjoyed is a good way to tell other people "hey! try this one, you will have a good time!" i'm always curious about dramas other users rated 9 or 10.
That doesn't mean other dramas were not good, in fact I enjoyed even the ones I rated low. it's just that they miss something (or some things), and it's kinda frustrating.

ahhhhhh... such a hard question... one I rated 10... I will say Nobuta wo produce, because there is friendship, friendship and friendship and I adore it. there are also a little bit of romance, and a lot of humour, which is a good balance in dramas as well as in real life. And because the main characters are teens with their good and their bad points, they are well described i think. they have to face hard and bad things, but they also are able to enjoy every good moments, and I like to see positive characters like them. That was my first drama staring Yamashita san (his "Akira Shock" kills me, in a good way of course!) and I adore him since then. I found Horikita san really good in it too, and I like her a lot.
What about you? what do you like the most in J dramas? and in K-dramas???
We can still go on in English, I'm a little bit used to reading and writing it now.

Très bien merci!!! Et toi?
I noticed also a few days before and wanted to say hello, but you were faster. In reading your profile, i was impressed by your knowledge in languages... Do you live in Europe (noticed you didn't want to say where exactly)? How are you learning Japanese? I've tried with Assimil, but was too lazy to go till the end... and watching J-dramas don't really help me to make some progress...
and how did you find time to see all those dramas and movies? I guess your studies must be "chronophages" (sorry but I'm not good at foreign language, so it's easier for me to mix them).
A très bientôt, c'est toujours un plaisir de discuter avec des personnes qui partagent mes goûts, même si je regarde peu de K-dramas.
