I agree that solar panels shouldn't fold cuz that is where satellites are drawing the power from to function. Folded solar panels = not enough surface area for sun light to fall and in turn no generation of electricity/power. However, I overlooked it for the sake of visual storytelling... especially cuz a majority of the viewers might be non science-y people. I think they used the representation of a bird for the satellite to help the viewers understand that the satellite that was malfunctioning (hurt and hence had drawn its wings inwards) was now fixed (and flying high with extended wings).
Regarding YuTu's change in career. YuTu double majored in Finance and Aerospace engineering, that too from an elite Ivy League like Tsinghua. Hence, it is not as far-fetched for him to jump into finance. But I do not agree that banking jobs aren't hard. They are quite complicated in fact. They need different skill sets than those of us who are researchers or are working in science related fields. I am a software developer and we would not be able to get the salary we get if not for the people in finance and marketing department doing a fantastic job of upholding the values of our creations.
