Watched this movie when it first came on Netflix and its one of those unforgettable ones. Wanna re-watch it but I don't have courage to experience the pain and sadness all over again. Also the title song by Crowd Lu is one of the most beautiful songs ever.
I'll keep this short. Overall, for me this drama was a 7.5. Up until episode 12, my rating for this drama was hovering between 8 - 9 but after that, my rating started to decrease partly because of certain characters and their way of thinking. Next, I also felt that certain character were slightly complicated like Kang Yo Han and Jung Sun Ha, it took me a few episodes to wrap my head around them and understand why they were doing what they were doing. And lastly, for me the ending was the biggest let down. In the sense, I just felt that the ending was really rushed, so rushed that certain aspects of the drama didn't quite get a proper closure like the whole Dream House Project and I was also curious about what happened to Professor Min and Jae Hee (Sun Ha's Bodyguard). I guess in the end, a little more explanation would have been better.
But with all this being said, I must also say that the overall plot of the drama is quite fresh and the acting is just on a whole another level. Everyone from out protagonists to our antagonists did a brilliant job. Kudos to them. Looking forward to Jisung & Jinyoung's future works.
Lmao....the first three episodes of the drama are pure comedy. Also, can I just say that the Chief's acting is just hilarious (in a good way), especially the restaurant scene.
After 'Beyond Evil', my expectations from Crime & Investigation dramas have skyrocketed. Have been comparing every Crime & Thriller drama to this masterpiece. Hoping I can forget everything soon, so that I can re-watch it with a fresh mind.
Its official, I hate Professor Min more than I hate the actual villains of the show and I don't think anything can change that.
Also, KGO is starting to get on my nerves. Its like his character never thinks for himself. He just believes what other say. In some ways, it truly seems like Jung Sun Ha know KYH better than anyone.
I'm really invested in this drama, as you all can tell XD
True, it's pretty tiring to watch every single character blamed Yo han for everything they did by themselves,…
Honestly, I couldn't agree more. And what made the whole thing even more annoying (for me) is the fact that characters such as Professor Min and Soo Hyun continuously blamed Kang Yohan based on what they have heard not what they have seen. They barely knew him yet they had formed an opinion.
Guys, did you enjoy this drama from the very beginning or does the drama and the cases get better as it progresses? As I'm currently on EP 2 and am debating whether to continue or not.
They properly confessed to each other in episode 35 or 36, if I remember correctly.
Same.....this was one of he main reasons why I ended up dropping this drama.
Hmmmm.....I guess the drama 'Story of Yanxi Palace' is a good one and in both the dramas the FL are quite smart. Sorry, I don't watch a lot C-Dramas so I'm not much of a help. :)

Oh no, I think I didn't explain it well enough :).....The male lead was quite open about his feelings but it took the FL a little over 30 episodes to fully open up and reciprocate his feelings (due to numerous misunderstandings).
A good watch, for sure! In short, this movie is your typical love story that is both cute yet predictable. The cast and the crew did an okay job but I personally felt that, the dubbing wasn't the best. Other than that, in terms of plot, one gets the gist of the overall movie within the first 15 mins. Therefore, if I had to recommend this movie, I'll recommend it only to those who are either a fan of romance movies or are simply looking for something light.
Honestly, I was quite hesitant to give this show a chance cause of the mixed reactions floating around and due…
Guys, these are my personal thoughts on each episode (I was really invested in the series, as you can tell:)). I was gonna put them in a review but after I went though what I had written, I realised it's not really a review. So posting it here. Hope you guys don't mind.
Episode 1
This first episode in short, was just amazing and probably the best first episode I have seen of a second season. Before starting this series, I was absolutely certain that S2 might not be as good as S1 given my past experience. And so far, the plot seems to be really good as well but I'm scared that eventually Teh & Oh Aew might drift apart given the fact that they are in different universities and the lack of time they are able to spend together. I hope I'm wrong (*fingers crossed). Looking forward to the next episode.
Episode 2
Honestly, I have so may thoughts on this episode. Firstly, I absolutely understand where Oh-Aew is coming from when he decided to change his course. He worked so hard to get into the university and the course only to realise that maybe, its not for him. From some reason, the scenes where he is struggling with his degree and has completely lost interest in what he's studying kinda hit home. But at the same time, I also understand Teh and why he struggled to come to terms with Oh Aew's decision. In the first season, we saw Teh help Oh Aew with his studies, teach him a whole new language and finally, he even sacrificed his college for him therefore it only makes sense for him to be slightly upset with Oh Aew and his decision (I'm not justifying his behaviour in the restaurant, I am simply saying I get where he's coming from). Next, I have also come to conclusion that Teh is a character who doesn't voice his thoughts and opinions and sometimes as a viewer, I struggle to understand his thoughts from his expressions. And lastly, the rooftop scene where Teh apologised and talked about his concerns was not only surprising but also very beautiful. I must admit, that particular scene was a very accurate depiction of the reality of arguments and reconciliation. In conclusion, this episode was even better than the first not only because it was realistic but also because it was quite relatable.
Episode 3
My thoughts are all jumbled now. During the first half of the episode, everything was understandable like the way their relationship was starting to fade away and them getting used to the fact that now they're now walking in different paths (career wise). But then came the second half and honestly I wasn't prepared at all, especially that ending. That ending was really off and I honestly can't think any excuse to justify Teh's actions. It was just wrong, so wrong.
I think I'll stop here else I'll give away too much.
Episode 4
In short this episode was just heart-breaking, Oh Aew did not deserve that pain and treatment and I kinda (emphasis on the word 'Kinda') felt bad for Teh as well cause he lost the one good thing in his life. And can we also talk about Jai, honestly, I know some weren't a big fan of him for obvious reasons but I found his character quite interesting and even realistic to a certain extent. In the sense, he is one of those who'll leave no stone unturned in order to achieve his dream but at the same time, he'll also hurt a few people along the way. Again I can't speak for others but I've definitely seen people like him. Lastly, I loved Oh Aew's friend group and how they were there for him - That was true friendship, right there.
Episode 5
In the end, I'm just glad that we got a happy ending. Yes, it was definitely cliché, no doubt about that and yes, realistically speaking they shouldn't have ended up together but I'm glad they did. All I can say is that, I'm a sucker for happy endings.
Honestly, I was quite hesitant to give this show a chance cause of the mixed reactions floating around and due to my past experience with S2s. But I honestly loved it and if had to choose between ITSAY & IPYTM then I'd definitely choose this one. For me this drama was a 10/10 and part of the reason might be because I found it relatable especially Oh Aew's experience in the first two episodes and the rooftop scene which in my view was a very accurate depiction of the reality of arguments and reconciliation. Other than that, in short, I loved everything from the cast, their acting and the cinematography. All in all, its a great drama and I personally enjoyed it although, I must admit its a hard one to rate and obvious reason (those who have seen the drama will know exactly what I mean). And to those wondering whether to watch it or not. I guess, I'd say its one of those dramas that some might like and others won't and that's absolutely fine. So do check it out and decide for yourself :)
Great article! Thank you for posting it. I’ve been in a kdrama slump lately so was looking for some good Jdramas and Cdramas but didn’t know where to start from. This article really helped. Adding them all to my PTW list :)
