I really liked this drama. I think it goes beyond just ki11ing — it also explores the deep and complex bond between a child and their mother. Throughout the story, we see the male lead constantly seeking his mother’s validation (trying to prove to himself that he won’t end up like her. He fears having a child of his own because he’s terrified that history might repeat itself, and his child could turn out like his mother. However, in the final scene, when he takes in a child and eventually starts his own family, it shows that he has begun to heal — or at least is on the path toward healing) The only time he truly accepts her and calls out to her as “Mom” is when he finally understands what shaped her into the person she became. In that moment, he finds peace within himself. This drama beautifully portrays how powerful and enduring a mother’s love can be.
