Hey, you have to keep in mind that in ancient China, males and females grew their hair as long as a sign of filial piety to their parents. there only way to tell was that males tied their hair up and wore"manly" clothes, while girls left their hair down, adorned themselves with jewellery and wore dresses and makeup. there was, therefore, no direct way to tell a man from a woman, unlike today. The movie was entertaining. I think this would have made an amazing series, like 8-10 episodes. However the overall, the plot, acting and casting were amazing. highly recommend.

Wait so he isn’t?

Okay, I am on episode 8 and I am 50/50 on this drama, at this point I don't like the FL. I don't understand her anymore. She's just trying to poke her nose everywhere, and she didn't even read the full script; she admitted to only reading the part of the main leads. And why does the script keep changing? Or new things keep getting added? I don't know. It's weird at this point, still enjoyable and a bit funny. Another thing I noticed is how the ML is misunderstood. I haven't gone far, but I can tell; his facial expression when the FL is telling him about him, then he is disgusted at Li Shilui, his eyes look pained. I also feel like he is in the drama too, or has been in the drama just like the FL. The FL does very little research before she acts; she's like a comedic relief. She's just a whole mess. Not a fan of her character, too, not smart. She still feels stupid when she finds out who the prince is. And I can smell something fishy with the 2ML, he is just off, something about him isn't right with me. (i think its obvious ) Anyway, for me, peace of mind, I've decided to wait until the 15th of July before I continue. In the meantime, I will be watching The Princess Gsambit. I will come back to update you when I am done with it.

I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, but you have to understand that character then you’ll understand the actor and her performance. I don’t know how far you are so I’ll try not to spoil it. The FL has gone through so much she’s not just introverted she’s hurt very hurt. She’s leaves in her own bubble and not in a good way but in a she has no one to talk to way. When you fully understand the character you’ll understand and cherish her acting and the delivery. And if you don’t I suggest you don’t watch dramas that are intricate and “complicated” since you don’t understand such. A character is ment to be “dry as a cardboard with 0 personality” I am trying to explain this to you without spoiling but your comment doesn’t reflect well on you as a drama watcher.

Just started the drama, the ml cousin is going to be pain for me, can I skip all her parts or does she play an important role in the lives of the fl and ml?

They all get what they deserve, I finished it and it gets better towards the end. They are plot twists I think will blow your mind (the baby dies)

I’m currently in the ep where Xia (the mistress) finds out she’s pregnant, please spoil it for me, like what happens and how does she end up, I need peace of mind when watching

Truth be told if you’re looking for romance you have come to the wrong place there is little to no romance in this drama it’s all about family, family dynamics getting over trauma ,death, life, motherhood, parenthood just slice of life if you may not romance. The leads barely spent any time together because the female lead was mostly concentrating on her relationship with her mother than she was her boyfriend the mother and the other hand she can become tiring at times I understand her because she had made her life Centre around her kids and she doesn’t have a life so she’s very clingy to her children Aside from that I think the drama was okay not bad for what it was I am a bit upset that it was marketed as a romance which is almost feels like they lied to us it’s not a romance if you’re looking for romance go somewhere else definitely not this Romance doesn’t start until episode 28 and they kissed just once. slice of life drama.
