I watched the first episode of Heirs and really don't think I can take it seriously. The portrayal of Americans was so comical that I had to pause it several times to take a deep breath because I was laughing so hard. I reconfirmed that I can't stand Park Shin Hye, and Lee Min Ho seemed like he was stepping back into his Boys Before Flowers (also dropped) role, which I was not a fan of. Obviously one episode does not define a show, but I don't think it's aimed at my demographic.

I have watched You're Beautiful up to episode 14 (saying I hated it would be an understatement) and Heartstrings up to episode 6 (same thing, although not as bad as You're Beautiful.)

Currently up for a while watching Orange Days, it's safe to say i've been swallowed up by it.

Park Shin Hye, although I don't think she is exceptionally pretty to begin with. Song Hye-Kyo is very beautiful, I loved her in That Winter, The Wind Blows - that's actually a great example of sadness that I find compelling.

Also, quick question before I forget. Should I pick Reply 1997 back up and complete it? I've watched the first 4 episodes and felt absolutely nothing for it. I didn't drop it outright because it could be one of those dramas that is worth it for the second half. Keep in mind I would only be watching it for the romance - is it worth completing for that?

Quirky is beautiful, and I prefer the quiet and strong type (hint of sadness behind the eyes builds character.) I think physically I find striking features most attractive (being very tall with sharp features myself.) A great example would be Kou Shibasaki's eyes (she's stunning.) I also find mannerisms (you mentioned quirky) and very expressive people attractive - I don't find an empty shell attractive, I want to sense the personality behind it. Some people just have that "look."

I only have the two dramas I have seen her in to go on, so I don't have a very large frame of reference. I can't remember how I got talked into watching The Vow, but I don't like Rachel McAdams or Channing Tatum, so it was natural I didn't really enjoy it. I thought the plot was promising, though.

I think I am attracted to "unconventional" beauty, so the list of actresses I find most attractive might be unusual to some people. I haven't really thought about it, but I know that's how I am with girls I meet in person. I added City Hall to my PTW. After I finish Lovers, I haven't decided what my next stop is. It will take me around a week to finish Lovers after Orange Days.

It's actually an interesting situation with Ha Ji Won - I love her as an actress (I have found her emotions / expressions very convincing) and because she's beautiful (I won't pretend I am not a guy and don't enjoy beautiful lead women) but I haven't been the biggest fan of her dramas. Secret Garden is one of those incredibly hyped dramas that I enjoyed but probably not to the extent I thought I was going to. The romance is not particularly "mature" in Secret Garden as both of the couple are relatively new to relationships - it's filled with some cliches (including amnesia, gender bending and a few others to name) and is only really saved by great actors and some smart dialogue / on-screen chemistry.

And even though I am only through 5 episodes, I love Sae and Kai. The only thing about Orange Days I would complain about is that I dont find of any of the supporting cast compelling.

Don't worry about it! I hope work isn't too stressful. I'm actually at the same place in Lovers as we last spoke - I ended up completing MARS first (loved it!) and started Orange Days because I know I can finish it quickly (so far it's very good.) Lovers will likely be my next stop after I finish Orange Days tonight.

Also, I saw one of the comments below recommending Time Between Dog & Wolf. I really loved this drama and I think it is worth the watch, but certain aspects of the romance might bother you (amnesia is a central plot point of the drama.) I still think you might like it, but it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Thank you :) I tend to be fairly outspoken about my love for romance as a genre and a concept, especially since I enjoy writing so much, so I hoped my profile could reflect a little of that. It's at the point where trying to watch or read something without romance feels lacking. If you ever find yourself looking for some good romances, I always enjoy recommending and discussing. I hope you have a nice day as well.

I do plan on finishing it. When something with great romance ends tragically, I am usually very frustrated, especially when the couple undergoes an incredible amount of turmoil over the course of the story. I often feel like there should be some sort of reward at the end. Obviously not all dramas would make sense with a happy ending, but I tend to gravitate towards ones that stress overcoming great odds to obtain happiness.

The only romance-heavy drama that had what I would consider a "tragic" ending (depends how you interpret it) that I really, really loved was Padam Padam. Maybe because he didn't die on screen and there was still a chance that he might survive.

If you have any suggestions about other dramas you'd like to discuss, I have time to watch things! It might be a bit before I work up the courage to finish Bridal Mask.

I'm going to have to put Bridal Mask on hold for right now. I don't know if I can handle a tragic ending at this moment

Also, thanks for reminding me about A Gentleman's Dignity - I've been meaning to switch it into my "favorites" on my profile since I completed it, i've just been lazy. I probably talk about the drama almost more than any other drama i've watched.

MARS was wonderful. Ended very well and did so without one of the couple going overseas to find themselves or losing their memory (who knew?) Probably the most realistic and passionate couple I have ever watched in a drama - it's not perfect, but I really loved it and can't imagine you not feeling the same. I liked it better than Autumn's Concerto (my only other TWDrama I've completed) and I loved that drama. It's definitely a must-watch when you have time. Expect a drama that is very emotional but incredibly passionate with a very heartwarming ending.

And I thought they might be hinting towards AGD 2.0, but it might just be the writer's way of suggesting strong friendships are cyclical and born everyday. I would definitely watch AGD 2.0, though, if it had Woo Bin and Lee Jong Hyun in it.

That's one of the few dramas I could probably re-watch 20 times and not get tired of. I'm glad you liked it! I finished Pride not too long ago and loved it very much. I am currently on the last episode of MARS and it's safe to say it has changed my life, depending on if it ends strongly (I am fairly sure it does) it will be one of my favorite dramas. Might be my favorite couple - I really wasn't expecting to love it as much as I do. I think you might want to watch MARS, it reminds me a bit of Pride because the interactions between the couple is so realistic and heartwarming. A+++

Harry's ending is kind of sad, I guess. I have never even thought of it that way. He just gets what is coming to him and it isn't even bad. Missing You probably has one of the overall happiest endings to a melodrama I have ever watched, I thought it was perfect!

I'm impressed with Joo Won's acting so far and the story is very intriguing. I can already sense that his character is going to have some very strong development over the course of the series and I always love seeing that. It's shot extremely well and the acting has been superb so far. I ended last night on a bad cliffhanger (Kang To shoots Mok Dan as she tries to assassinate him) and it's eating away at me to find out what happens next - that's a good sign.

It seems very promising so far, I will probably know better when I am about 10 episodes in. That's generally when I have the best feel for how much I am going to enjoy a drama. Martial Arts are pretty close to my heart, though, since I grew up doing them, and it is very hard to go wrong with awesome action scenes like there have been so far.
