Yeah, I'm about to wrap this up. In the second act, there are about 5 eps where the FL spends time with another…
I had actually completely written this show off, but if you made it through it, it must have some merit. I admit that my relationship with shows like TMoPB and Ashes of Love (completely unwatchable) made this a pretty easy decision to skip, but I genuinely love Chinese costume dramas. They're probably my favorite shows at the moment, but I can't think of any that I enjoyed specifically for romance. It's actually been a while since I've watched anything I'd consider "romantic." Thanks for the episode breakdown, that actually helps a lot - I wish every drama came with a disclaimer so that I could skip triangles or tedious second leads.
Can u tell me with whom the FL ended up?and if there is any love triangle???
She confesses her feelings for Zhang Ling at the end. There is a triangle (all 3 male leads love her.) The ending is unhappy, though, she dies and doesn't end up with anyone
I struggled to make it as far as I did. I found it incredibly boring and I'm usually a fan of slowburner or drama-free romance. I dropped it with just a few episodes left
The people wondering why this drama is hated must have skipped the second half, it should be pretty obvious if you pay attention to anything Bai Ping Ting does after about the halfway point. That isn't even taking into account the god awful secondary leads.
Watch this one with a grain of salt - avoid it if you despise abusive relationships or main characters doing awful things to each other for the sake of "love."
IMO, almost all c-dramas drag. Just look at their number of episodes man....
I don't think anything will ever beat NIF, but at least xanxia / wuxia is something I enjoy even when it's bad, guilty pleasure I guess (not saying this show is bad, it is decent)
i'm gonna be honest here... how the hell does this have such a high score? i understand people's preferences are…
Most kdramas on this site are heavily inflated because of stans, you should always take the rating systen with a grain of salt. The Heirs was like a 9.0 while airing and it was a dumpster fire from the first 5 minutes

I call it the "Nirvana in Fire has ruined dramas for me because it can only go down from there" effect.
I'm joking - I usually just casually watch xanxia / wuxia shows with no real expectation because they are (usually) mindless fun. I've just found myself slightly annoyed / bored with a few of these plotlines, but not enough to stop watching
