Judging by the rueters and trailer, it looks like they get together much earlier in the drama, they seem quite affectionate to each other when still at the village, not sure how much of that is actually just to put on a show to convince Changyu's uncle that she is married, but nonetheless in the novel they're not affectionate until after they reunite in the army. So there is definitely going to be some deviation from the novel.

Yes FL is supposed to have a nonchalant detached personality considering she is the cat lord and basically is in charge of the demon world so nothing gets out of control, further in the drama when she realizes she likes the ML, she was contemplating whether to be with him knowing that she's not fully human and unlikely to grow old with him . Personally I love her coyness and her no-nonsense attitude, she's clever and is not afraid to say whats on her mind. Last thing I need is another FL who wears her heart on her sleeve and basically fawns over ML like a love sick puppy

You do realize there are many dramas where the leads have 10+ years in age difference, right? This is not an anomaly and like many have said, very doubtful there's going to be any kissing/bed scenes. Its just interesting how you're so bothered by their age difference but then goes "I'd like to see how their chemistry sucks cause of their age", maybe invest your energy and time into something you actually enjoy and this drama is obviously not one of them. Instead of assuming this and that, why don't you wait for the drama to be released before throwing shade solely on the age of the actors, like you said China has strict rules with censorship, if there was issues with the drama they certainly wouldn't approve licensing.

She was literally bullied her entire life with a spineless father who can't even stand up for her, so yeah its natural to develop survival instincts and be smart about your life when you're being treated like sh*t from people around you. FL is actually a strong and independent character who never played the role of damsel in distress unlike most of the Cdrama out there. The main leads relationship is one of the healthiest i've seen with no stupid misunderstanding and annoying third wheeler who creates tension. And yes I TRULY believe that the average Joe dealt with a crappy life, who if given a chance to go back in time to make it better, will NOT make any changes at all... 😒 and also what "mistakes" does FL have to own up to?
