I agree with you, but it shouldn't be all of a sudden like you sign up for light-hearted drama with some politics but then all of a sudden you get to see so much of other characters and made our leads actually sides, like Xu Kai doesn't even show up and also King Zhou is just too annoying, characters making stupid decisions like Fu Ruo sister like for her a man worked hard to get into court and all of a sudden she's like I'm gonna take revenge..bla bla, I just hope it takes some good direction

Just don't care about them, Chummu is a sweetheart, he changed himself and also respected her decisions, cared for her, and loved her. the Prince is a jerk, what's use in helping Fu Ruo when he is going to use it to blackmail her back with that, like to make her eat you kiss her wtf if someone does that I would kill, I agree that he wanted her to eat but that's not the way !!
