The plot is not perfect, but I have to say Sam Lin's acting carried the series hard! I mean the way he portrayed Shi De's character was impressive, you could feel how immersed he was in that role! Of course the whole crew did an amazing job to bring this story to life, but I'm just very impressed with Sam's acting in particular :D
Aoki reminds me of Nakatsu from Hana Kimi mixed with Adachi from Cherry Magic! :D Aoki's actions are so overacted, but in a good/entertaining way (like Nakatsu), and he is so sweet/innocent/awkward (like Adachi). Gotta love this character :D I really hope we will keep being blessed by similar BL dramas to this one~ UwU
I rewatched it yesterday and I have to say I was probably as excited as the first time I saw it :D The main couple is just so cute and wholesome~ UwU It's just the kind of drama that instantly improves your mood ^^
This was intense (not in a bad way, it's just not a light drama). Worth watching if you like seeing characters heal from bad/traumatic experiences. I liked how the characters were written - very relatable/believable. They all had problems, but were trying to overcome them in a mature way. I actually think they made this drama the perfect length, this way it doesn't feel draggy.
So glad I listened to the comments/reviews and watched this drama! ^_^ The story is not crazy/extravagant - it's just about life. But it's so cute, relatable, inspiring, and it's presented in an entertaining way. Definitely worth a watch :)
Your comment makes me want to give it a go! It sounds like it's a bit more realistic/relatable than your typical…
Yeah, Asian dramas usually don't show too much intimacy due to cultural differences, I guess (they tend to be more conservative compared to let's say the US). I watched the first episode and I'm liking it so far, excited to see more :)
WHAT A GOOD WATCH!!! I have been watching Jdramas since early teen days, and what i could digest then, is no longer…
Your comment makes me want to give it a go! It sounds like it's a bit more realistic/relatable than your typical romance Jdrama. I essentially stopped watching Jdramas because of the exaggerated/cringey acting when it comes to romance. I know there are different types of acting, and some people enjoy the almost theatrical type, but it's usually too much for me :D
I would say this is a relaxing/light type of drama, with good pacing (I mean it's based on a webtoon, so it makes sense for it to have a good story/writing). The acting felt very natural as well, and I liked how they wrapped up the drama, the last two episodes were really good! Worth a watch if you want to have a laugh and enjoy some cute romance with a fantasy touch. It's definitely nothing too overwhelming/overly complicated, just a cute rom-com :)
Well, compared to the first few episodes, the story now definitely feels slower and more dramatic. I understand how that may let down some people, but it's still very sweet and personally I'm still emotionally invested. I really hope they wrap it up nicely though, 'çause I feel this show actually has the potential to live up to its current rating!
I assume high rating is due to the main leads' chemistry, or at least that was in my case.I'm aware the story…
Oh, definitely! After all, rom-coms are all about that warm fuzzy feeling~~ ^_^ The chemistry of the main leads overshadows the lackluster script for sure! I recommend this drama for their interactions alone :D
The concept was interesting, the acting was good, but the story was where things fell short. I liked where things were going in the beginning, but I feel all the build up fell flat. Honestly one of the main things that bothered me was the way they portraited the times where Yi Gon was time travelling and Tae Eul was waiting for him. I was expecting that sad, empty feeling and seemingly endless anticipation and desperation, but since they gave us constant updates on what was going on on both sides, it was kind of like waiting for a commercial to end, so we can get to the point. Of course, that's not the biggest issue of the series, but since their relationship was the center of the drama, you would think it was a bit more emotional. Overall, I think this drama really had potential, but it was kind of anticlimactic for me. I give it 7/10 because honestly it's not that bad of a show, it's just that it could have been so much more.
Five years after watching it, I just came to say a few things :D First of all, I think the acting was very good. I absolutely loved the chemistry between the main leads. Very cute and funny, definitely the highlight of the show for me. Second of all, I think the story could have been presented in a better way. It was not very compelling, even though there were interesting elements (superpower, challenging gender stereotypes). Even though it's one of the better rom-coms out there, I still think it's slightly overrated (currently has a rating of 8.7 and when I watched it I gave it a solid 8/10 and even now I wouldn't give it more than that). Overall, I think it's a fun watch, but don't expect a masterpiece when it comes to the story/script/writing.
It's been 5 years since I watched this drama and honestly I still watch funny compilation videos about it :D This show is super entertaining and I strongly recommend it to anyone who is in a need of something cute and funny to watch. One of the best dramas I have EVER watched, ngl. Trust the rating for this one, you won't regret it ! :D
Funny, sweet and wholesome. I love how the fantasy element is so casual :D It's like a higher power is saying: "My dear introverted virgin people, only a supernatural power can help you now! But fear not, I'll lend you some ;)" But joking aside, I really enjoyed this drama. I absolutely loved the main couple and their chemistry. I think the acting was quite natural, and I'm pointing that out only because there may be people like me who watch/are more used to k-dramas than j-dramas. I am pretty sure that people have a particular expectation about the way of presenting a topic and the style of acting when it comes to the country of origin of the show. I, for example, generally find the Japanese style of acting very cringey when portraying romantic relationships, but that's not the case here (especially for the main couple), so I enjoyed it very much. I'll definitely rewatch it at some point.
First off, the second lead syndrome is strong with this one! Ahem.. moving on :D If you don't mind the usual rom-com clichés and just want a generally light drama to binge-watch - I strongly recommend! This drama has PLENTY of sweet and hilarious moments, but also touches upon more serious topics like bullying, depression, trauma, self-hate, domestic violence, peer pressure, loss, etc. I think it's important to present problems like these in various ways, be it even in rom-coms, as they make people more aware of such circumstances. Anyway, of course the general tone of the drama is positive and hopeful, so it's easy to binge, imo.
A compelling story, great acting. The series starts off with this thrilling and creepy atmosphere and gradually becomes very melodramatic (I mean, it does say melodrama in the description, so no wonder :D). But the thing is, they used all the clichés/tropes in a tasteful way, hence why so many people loved this drama. I strongly recommend.
Okay, but why did almost every location (indoors) was freezing cold?! You could see their breath and in the behind the scenes you can see the reception lady at the audition rubbing her hands together... Being cold must have been quite uncomfortable for the actors and staff... :( About the drama - it was a bit awkwardly paced in my opinion, but overall sweet and enjoyable.
