Title Knock Out
I had stopped at work 5 and was abt to continue cause of the rating but thanks to your comment I remembered that…
Absolutely, you should find another BL to watch. Since there are some many new, old, and recent ones to choose from. Sad to say Knock Out is not one of those...

I’ve just finished watching this series after putting off the last 3 episodes because I genuinely couldn’t understand the hype. Let me say upfront: I’m aware people are loving this show, but after watching it all the way through, I have to be blunt... this series does not deserve its 8.0 rating.

Let’s start with Keen and Thun. Their romance was absolutely rushed and made no sense. The episode before they started to get together, they hated each other. Then, out of nowhere, they’re suddenly in love. There was no chemistry-building, no slow burn, just a sudden leap from animosity to affection. I honestly think they should have waited longer before pushing these two together because their relationship felt completely forced. That said, I’ll give credit where credit is due: they did have chemistry, but unfortunately, their acting just wasn’t strong enough to make the transition believable. It was frustrating because you could see the potential, but the delivery fell flat at times.

As for Mawin and Itt, I just didn’t feel it. Their chemistry was non-existent. Every time they were on screen, especially during their intimate scenes, I found myself getting frustrated and skipping through them. The actors seemed to lack the emotional depth needed to make me care about their relationship. Overall, I was left unimpressed.

The girls’ subplot? Honestly, I don’t even remember their names. The romance between them felt flat and unnecessary. The show tries to shoehorn in a forced “everyone’s queer because it’s a BL” trope, which just came across as lazy and unrealistic. I get the appeal of having a diverse range of characters, but when it doesn’t serve the story, it feels like an afterthought.

Now let’s talk about the villains or should I say, the too many villains. Every episode felt like they were introducing someone new, making the storyline confusing. Sia Theph was one of the most disappointing antagonists I’ve seen in a while. He didn’t feel like a real threat; he just looked goofy in every scene he was in. The same goes for Thun’s dad, who just couldn’t pull off the villain role. Their presence took me out of the show completely.

And what was up with the whole Thypoon vs. Thun rivalry? They barely mentioned Thypoon for several episodes, and then suddenly, out of nowhere, he’s back with no real explanation. It felt like they dragged the story unnecessarily, especially with the special episode that nobody needed. The whole show felt like it was being stretched beyond its limits, and the pacing was terrible.

In conclusion, this series had a lot of potential but ultimately failed in many areas especially in terms of pacing, character development, and consistent storytelling. I don’t see how this could deserve an 8.0 rating when there were so many fundamental issues. If you're into BL shows, this one might work for you, but if you value solid writing and character depth, I’d look elsewhere.

Babe didn't cheat, Willy assaulted him. How are people just ignoring that?
There’s a bigger issue here, yes, this was assault. Consent isn’t a one-time thing; even if someone flirts or things start getting intimate, they can change their mind at any time. If someone says they feel uncomfortable or wants to stop, that should be respected immediately. Saying Babe didn’t push Willy off or say "no" out loud is a crazy take. Not everyone can react like that in the moment, and it doesn’t mean they were okay with it. These kinds of takes are exactly why so many survivors stay silent. Be more mindful

It’s funny how some of y’all think Ramil is the one in control. If you really watch closely, it’s clear Paytai is actually pulling the strings, he just lets Ramil feel like he’s in charge. Between the two, Ramil seems more emotionally fragile. Paytai knows exactly what buttons to push, and he enjoys it, especially when Ramil gets possessive. That kiss scene at the club? Paytai smirking after Ramil fixes his jacket says it all. He’s not scared, he’s playing the game, and he’s winning. I think Paytai is more afraid of Ramil's father not Ramil himself.

TW: Rape / Non-Consensual Content

I'm sorry but what the actual fuck?!?! I’m the type of person who really tries not to drop shows. I believe watching even the bad ones helps me understand my tastes better, gives me more exposure to the BL genre, and builds up my list so I can give genuine recommendations. I've sat through Dinosaur Love and Playboy all the way through , and let’s be real, the acting and pacing in those were terrible too, but I stuck it out just so I could form an opinion and give a fair review. The pacing is a mess, the script makes no sense, the acting is straight-up unwatchable half the time, and there’s barely a plot holding anything together. But what really made me drop this show without a second thought was episode 5. That rape scene was disgusting.

I can handle bad writing. I can even handle weird-ass storylines. But I absolutely cannot sit through a show that glorifies rape or tries to pass non-consensual scenes off as “passion” or “romantic tension.” What the fuck is wrong with the people who find that shit exciting? Like genuinely. what the hell is appealing about watching someone be violated? And i think my biggest issue with it was how it lead up to it and the execution of the scene itself. It wasn't acted out in a way that's raising awareness towards the topic. I've watched shows like Playboy and the Silence movie based on a real case, and while yes I've felt uncomfortable during scenes of rape, I didn't drop the shows. In my opinion, there's two ways you can do things be respectful or try to play into sick audience views.

This isn’t about gender. I don’t care if it’s men, women, whatever rape is rape. It’s traumatizing. It’s violent. And it’s not a fucking fetish. Watching those scenes literally hurt because I wouldn’t want anyone to go through that — not even a fictional character. And to see people swooning over it like it's hot? Y’all need to get checked out.

And I swear, ever since KinnPorsche, a lot of y’all have been tolerating more and more toxic shit in BL. Love Syndrome was already horrendous, and then that movie somehow made it worse. And people are still out here begging for a sequel like that wasn't one of the most uncomfortable things ever put to screen. If you're into shows like this because it gets your kinks going, maybe reevaluate why you think someone being abused is “entertainment.” Because from the looks of it, some of y’all don’t even respect basic human rights anymore.

So yeah. I’m done with Eye Contact. Dropped. This shit’s horrible and I’m not gonna pretend otherwise just because it’s “BL.” That's just my opinion, if you enjoy the show then continue watching it bur respect my opinion.

so real those montages actually made me convulse😭
Exactly, like bro it’s like a 2 minute scene of them running… RUNNING. We could’ve had anything else but no the director didn’t come through.

I think Jin is saying "it's not your fault" is because Akin really believes it's his fault. He feels guilty and…
Ohhh, see TAHT didn’t register in my mind. I didn’t interpret it that way. I thought it was him saying that he was somehow at fault for the situation but thank you for showing me a different perspective, because I can totally see where you’re coming from. I didn’t mean to be insensitive or anything. It’s just one of the things that stuck out to be that episode. Anyways, thank you and I appreciate your clarity!

I’m honestly so disappointed. This series had sooo much potential and the story was genuinely cute. They had 10 episodes, each around 40 minutes long, how is it even fucking possible that we only got to see the supposed "main couple" for like 10 to 20 minutes each episode? Those montages were actually pissing mee offf. And then I found out that Ji Yu and Cha Yeong didn’t even date in the original manga?? WTF?! I don’t even watch kdramas like that because they all follow the same formula, and if I wanted that, I would’ve just picked an actual kdrama to watch. This was supposed to be a BL, and yet they made the second couple the main premise of the whole show. Make it make sense. There should be no reason why I'm seeing this mf on that damn tennis court every 3 minutes. Heesu and Seungwon should’ve been the focus, period. They were the heart of the original story, and instead they were pushed to the side so the series could chase some cliché hetero drama that no one asked for. Whoever directed this, I really hope you’re listening to this kind of criticism, because this? This wasn’t it. At all. If you wanted a straight drama with a side gay couple you could've just directed that.

I’ve been procrastinating, but I finally finished the episodes! After watching the alternate version of the honey scene, there’s no doubt in my heart that those two are incredible actors. They really riff off one another, and they look amazing together. I feel so spoiled with the amount of episodes they dropped today.

That said, I do have one complaint.. or maybe more of a question. I’m not sure if it translates differently in Thai or if that’s just how it was worded, but the scene where Jun goes to comfort Akin felt a little off to me. At first, I was like “okay, this eatsssss,” and I was about to cry. But then Jun says, “It’s not your fault,” and it threw me off.

I understand that there was no sex involved, since Johnny orchestrated the whole thing and Akin wasn’t fully conscious. But let’s say, for instance, there had been sex that night. That line could imply that Akin would’ve been at fault for it happening, and I really disagree with that. Consent is so black and white. If someone isn’t fully aware or able to say yes, that’s it, there’s no gray area. I just wish they had worded that part more clearly. Still, Jun won me back by the end of that scene.

Also, Johnny absolutely needs to be held accountable. I think it’s wild how he was acting like he wasn’t that "that bad of a person" because he “didn’t do anything” once Akin mumbled Jun’s name. Like, sir... wouldn’t the fact that Akin wasn’t even fully conscious be reason enough to back off completely!?! The logic is unhinged. The fact that Johnny even considered going through with it says everything we need to know about him.

Props to the girl who played the creepy fan, by the way, her look was so unsettling and she nailed that role. The way she carried herself, insanely good. I really hope we see her in more projects because I think she’s going to go far.

Anyway, all for my rant, I just felt like sharing my opinion lol. Totally fine if you don’t agree, but I had to get that out.
