In regards to this series and romance I honestly think that no matter what happens.. It will not end on a happy…
Agreed. Hawl is bulgasal and the sisters are human, they belong to different worlds. Happily ever after will not happen. Hawl is pained to see his wife because of his overwhelming guilt of not protecting his family. So in this life, he will protect them and save the baby. But I don't see them as family in this life simply because Hawl seems so tired and weary and just wants to move on to the next life. He and SU will resolve their misunderstanding from the past and get rid of the villain Dark Hole. They will probably meet again in the after life...

Hawl's attraction to Sang Woon would not be out of the blue. They clearly had a past that has not been revealed. When Hawl's family was killed and he drove the sword into Bulgasal SW, SW said that Hawl had planned all this and that she hated him. But SW also saved boy Hawl several times and even taking a sword for him. So clearly there was a past and it was a love/hate relationship. I felt the actors' chemistry for the scenes 600 years ago was on point. Their chemistry could be better for present time scenes, but it is an awkward situation given all the missing memories.

As for Hawl and wife, my take is the writer literally screamed that they had an unhappy marriage and that there was no romantic love. It was odd that Hawl's wife would specifically say he did not love her. East Asian culture is very subtle and family members do not talk about "love" like that. It was almost like the writer went out of her way to tell us there was no romantic love between the two. There was familial love of course. Hawl was ostracized by his community. It was his wife's father who saved him. He clearly loved his family deeply and craved warm, harmonious family life as evidenced by the scene where he saw his wife and son catching the rain. His familial love is also the foundation for his quest for revenge and atonement.

I’ll probably get hate for this but I actually think it’s the acting that’s giving people a forced impression,…
Lol he has that look because he is totally confused about what’s going on — she is pretty, but I need to kill her, wait the scar is missing, oops, who are you? If I were Hawl, I’d throw up my hands and get some KBBQ instead.

Dan Hwal: Your soul is mine. Sang Woon: No, you're my sword. Aight guys we really going in circles here.....
The script/editing could probably tighten up a bit, but I wouldn't say it's going in circles. To Hawl's claim that she killed his family, Sang Woon's counter is prove it! And he couldn't. As for Sang Woon's claim that H is her sword, unfortunately neither knows how to implement it. So now Dan Hwal and Sang Woon are on the same journey to recover past memories and learn how their lives fit together.

The story is clear Hawl and Sol had a toxic marriage. Like the villagers, Sol constantly tormented Hawl blaming his Bulgasal curse for their son’s illness and their daughter’s premature death. I don’t think Hawl was a bad father because he didn’t care about his children; it was because he was afraid his Bulgasal curse would hurt them more if he had gotten too close to them. It was an arranged marriage. Sol herself made it clear Hawl never loved her and there was even domestic violence between them when Sol tried to stab Hawl. Maybe the actors had good chemistry in the first few scenes, but it would be odd for romance between Hawl and Sol given their past and the fact she is pregnant with someone else’s baby.

Title Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Spoiler
Hwal soul wasn't his in the first place. It was sangwoon and he was either bulgasal or someone who was cursed…
Based on the painting in Ok Eul Tae's house, both Sangwoon and Hwal are portrayed as deities (gods) who seem to be responsible for managing the demons in the realm as they are surrounded by demons. Hwal betrayed Sangwoon as his back is turned against her. Due to the betrayal, Sangwoon is condemned as a bulgasal with her soul taken by Hwal and Hwal became mortal with Sangwoon's soul. Ok Eul Tae and Sol are probably the cause of the betrayal as they manipulated Sangwoon and Hwal for selfish reasons.

I really want to start this drama but ever since Lee Jin Wook was accused of rape I can't watch him... but it…
The court found LJW innocent of the charges. He countersued his accuser and she was found guilty of making false accusation.
