EVERYONE has the right to not like a show or like a show, debate about it or give ones opinions. You are not allowed to make things personal by attacking other members is exactly right. One can not just say whatever they want. I just want to put that out there so everyone knows that you still need to respect each other as everyone has different likes and tastes. It doesn't give us the right to attack each other because we have a difference of opinion. This is why you can't say whatever you want because then it just turns into another statistic of bullying on Social media like some other sites unfortunately. This is what I love about the site, even though it is about drama there is next to no drama here lol You want to debate about a show , an actor/actress or the writers by all means but make it about the show and not your fellow member. MDL is an amazing community like no other we need to keep it that way. Sorry for all the blabbing but that is my 2 cents :o)

If you would like to verify your account you would need to look under settings. From there click on the Security & Privacy tab. Scroll down a bit and you will see an option to add your phone number that will allow a code to come via SMS. You then enter the code you are sent and you are done. :o)

You absolutely can still use the site exactly the way you were before so no worries. :o)

I believe it will help against things like spam bots etc. Here is an example: if new members not existing create an acct they may have a hold period before being able to post unless the acct is verified. I don't know if you recall the posts with phones numbers or the sports posts but the bots were posting every 30 seconds. That would help with this. I am not saying that is what it is for but this is an example on how it can be used.
Everyone will still be able to do exactly like what is being done now. Nothing is going to change that way so there is no worries.
As for more abilities it can be something as simple as being able to use different colour backgrounds on a profile (example only). It is just like being a VIP you can choose not to become one but it doesn't change the overall functions of the site.
I know this doesn't help cover all concerns but I hope it helps a little bit :o)

No one and I repeat No one from MDL is going to sell your phone number. As stated you do not have to verify your account. If you do not you can still do everything like before. If someone wanted to do something nasty with your information they would be forcing people to do this. You not wanting to have a verified account is totally your right and completely up to you. However please do not start rumors saying they are going to do bad things with the information and accuse them of doing underhanded things. It is nothing but assumptions and not fair to two people who work their butt's off trying to improve the site for it's members. Concerns are expected allegations without proof are not. I don't mean to come off as rude so please don't take it that way, as I just want to avoid rumors being spread that the Admin's are shady because they are far from it. :o)
