It's quite ironic that the 'crash course in romance' was missing in this drama!I'm disappointed as I was looking…
the drama spend so much time to parade their yet to start relationship as an scandal and keep the leads separated and when they finally got together it shifted focus to the murders and the girl and her real mother.
the sudden shift to make a couple out of the fl's friend (I don't remember her name) with fl's autistic brother threw me off too... not that I disagree with him having a relationship but it felt like they just wanted him out of the way as nuisance to the leads relationship and.. it was odd since ml and him were on good terms.. if they wanted them to be a thing, they should've left some hints of affection through the whole drama.
It's quite ironic that the 'crash course in romance' was missing in this drama! I'm disappointed as I was looking forward to the romance yet I got some adults as naive as teenagers if not worse! what made it worse is that fl and ml didn't have chemistry (maybe due to lack of actually meaningful interactions that focused on themselves).
ml and fl didn't have enough chemistry and the story was dragged for too long so I lost interest in them. only finished it for the second couple! although they had little screen time their chemistry was great.
I liked the main couple in the first half as they awkwardly built their life and try to understand each other but the moment the second couple showed up, my focus shifted to them and started skipping the main couple's issues as they became repetitive overthinkings over miscommunications. the second couple's understanding of each other was top notch.
The synopsis sounds interesting! gonna give this a shot despite the low rating reviews! (though it's kinda understandable that novel fans might not have liked the adaptation, if that's the only reason the rating is low, it might be watchable for someone unfamiliar with the original work like myself!)
It was an okay drama. It felt a bit confusing in the last 2 episodes but it did come together somehow. the first half was definitely better! specially because of the right casting for childhood, teen years and the first adult Momi. the downfall began when she was replaced by Nana.. and the other lady who took over for the later years didn't fit either. when the appearance of a character is important they should cast actresses with similar feature.. also Lee Han Byeol's acting was better than both of them combined!
fl treating the crowd as fans after getting arrested was the same as what happened in 'why women kill' series. the way they shot it was way too similar! did they intentionally copy it?
it's a happy ending! (ml died defeating the villain but she revived him, kinda similar to how ml resurrected wu). fl's sister died and resurrected as Yan Luo's shifu. she still had her memories as well. Yan Luo died.
ml's friend (Zi Yu) just disappeared! they forgot he existed after ep 17! he wasn't even at the wedding in ep 20. thought what's even sadder is his character name is unknown! just once ml called him A-wu and that's it.
the villain (Ao Hen)'s acting is bad.. his lack of facial expressions is painful to watch! the slow motions were over used in this one! the cgi wasn't horrible but not good either. the dubbing wasn't good in many parts.
The acting was okay but was it worth the time? I don't think so.
the way they (literally) tortured each other through the whole drama, I didn't care if there was a misunderstanding involved! of course it had a happy ending!
I think everything was just way too connected!! I like the surprise reveal of some connected events but not like…
I wish there wasn't a past affection from ml.. he seemed pretty stalker-ish to be honest! then there is the old lady she saved that turns out to be the chairwoman and ml's grandma!! what made it worse is that when she was telling ml about the incident he didn't say anything!! was it that he didn't know? is it even possible? fl's ex confessing at the event and Azuma letting her through security was as well too convenient...
they could've just wrapped up with them being happy.. I don't care if it was made from a manga or not... their relationship had too many misunderstandings due to fl's insecurity, the whole separation was unnecessary in my opinion!they didn't even meet with fl's family.. they had a wedding ceremony for ghosts at the end.. what's that even? no friends or family there, just the 2???
I think everything was just way too connected!! I like the surprise reveal of some connected events but not like this.. The convenient connections all over the place was too shallow...
I think chemistry was lacking maybe due to stiff acting added by the relationship being underdeveloped/rushed, the kisses were okay. this drama was butchered by the choppy editing.. and the dubbing!

It wasn't horrible but it was a letdown.
