This is a solid drama and JJH and KDW are solid actors. But I'm used to feasting on ultra premium cream of the…
I'm not taking any particular stand on the story of Tempest but the comparison with those Park Chan-wook films is not very well taken. First, Thirst was based on a Zola novel, and The Handmaiden was based on the novel The Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. Director Park got co-writing credit on both Lady Vengeance and Decision to Leave. (I haven't seen The Truth Beneath.) Anything directed by that director is just inevitably going to be better than anything on DIsney Plus as a drama simply in view of the fact that Director Park is one of the world's best filmmakers now. So being dissatisfied that this isn't as good seems unfair. As for Little Women, it took some really absurd directions as it went on and I don't think it was nearly as successful as Tempest has been so far (up to Episode 5) simply in terms of sustaining the tension and mood mostly along a single line.

I adore Lee Mi Sook in Money Flower! The young woman assistant is another interesting female character with potential for development.

I agree. I haven't seen him before; what would you recommend I watch?
Thanks! I love Song Kang Ho, and so I might start with that one, if I can find it. I tried the Wolves one and it wasn't for me (I don't enjoy those old teenage school shows). I watched Dr. Cheon and it was just so lightweight that I didn't like it much either.)

So interesting and strong female leads, all of them brilliant actresses ... and cherry on top KDW 😊 damn...
Lee Mi Sook is such an interesting performer to watch! She's so delightfully evil but I like the idea that she might be on the "good" side in this show, while still being rather sly and happy to wield her twisted power!

What is this stupid logic? Her husband is killed in front of her eyes, and then she admires the ML!. How is that?…
I have recently lost a loved one (but not my husband) and I think it's fair to say several things here. One is that in shock and grief, people's behavior can be strange and unpredictable. Seeking comfort isn't the same as being "thirsty for love." Plus, the nature of her marriage to the charming politician isn't very clear yet. There seems to have been love, but she worked for the opposing political party, and we know they lived separately over a long time, plus that his family treated her very badly. Plus, she didn't really share his religion. She refers to losing a baby, and a miscarriage can separate spouses in odd ways. Also, the ML is the one person who stepped forward at a crucial moment to try to stop the killer from shooting more bullets. Gratitude isn't the same as some new kind of lust or love interest. They have now shared two major traumas. She's in a world where there's almost no one she can trust. Hoping he can help protect her is a very different thing from suddenly desiring him. In the scene where she hired him she was very businesslike. Maybe WE as viewers want some romance to happen, but it doesn't mean that what has transpired so far is as tainted as you seem to be saying it must be.
