I believe most of us (including myself) would probably agree with you. But, this series has been such a train…
"A little train wreck humor," lol! (Where's the rimshot?)
I'm thinking (well, hoping) that, with eight episodes left (I actually liked Ep. 5), the series will pick up and (as with a lot of series), we'll pretty much forget about the first few episodes as the story continues.
Gameboys is officially my all-time favorite BL. I'm looking forward to Gameboys 2, but I kind of feel like the drama between Cai and Gav has now been played out. I'd like to see the story revolve around Terrence, Wesley and Achilles, with Gav, Cai and Pearl as happy, supporting characters.
But I know I will like whatever they come up with!
I was looking forward to a new season of LBC since the original kinda had a good mix of fluff and angst , and…
For me, Can's awkwardness in kissing goes along with his character. Emotionally, Can is like a small child and he's never been in a relationship before (probably never kissed anyone before), and he's confused about having feelings for a guy. Even in LBC1, Can never "kissed back" until the make out scene with Tin in the final episode. I think Can will come around eventually.
Okay, so Episode 7 was just kind of... what it was. But...
Is no one going to comment on the fact that they used actual BL series REACTORS as some of the "contestants" in the Cakes of the World contest? (Jeevan, MoriMori Entertainment, After Hours, etc.) That was probably my favorite part.
I'll probably get slammed for this, but I must be one of the few that doesn't miss Pete (nothing against Saint). For me, the Pete character was just too wimpy and weak (although I did appreciate that he was one of the first actually gay BL characters) and, although I did like the Ae/Pete coupling at first, after a while they just became boring, in my opinion.
That said, this depiction of Ae as slipping into depression and degradation seems a bit like overkill. Ae's character was so strong in LBC1. Maybe they will give us more of why Pete left (they haven't so far), which would at least -- maybe -- give us an explanation as to why Ae feels so hopeless. (And yes, I'm aware of the story in the novel.)
At this point, I'd just as soon see Ae hook up with Pond! (Lol, just kidding, I realize Pond is a straight character.)
Wow! All the varied comments! I'm not sure I agree or disagree with any of them. BUT, they're all interesting,…
I agree with you, especially regarding Kla/No. There's just no reason for that storyline, unless they were going to portray it as an actual rape, and the trauma that goes along with that. Sigh. And it seems Tul/Hin is going to be some sort of BDSM relationship, which could actually be interesting if explored genuinely, but I doubt it will.
As for Tin/Can, it seems that the backstory they're subjecting us to could have been handled in the first episode, rather than dragging it out the way they are here. (Although, admittedly, I do enjoy some of the new scenes that weren't in Season 1.) I hope they get the story moving soon.
that is where Gav lives. Cai took a detour and went to see Gav. The part where Mama Leila allowed Cai to stay…
Thanks for your answer!
I understood the Mama/Cairo flashback. But I was just remembering that, in Ep. 12, when Gav and Cai were fighting, Gav was planning to drive to talk to Cai in person, despite Cai not wanting that. Gav steps outside of his house and into the driveway, just outside the front door. His car is right there and he is just about to get inside of it, when their argument escalates and the episode ends.
So this street looked really remote to me, and I was wondering where Gav was walking (since it seems he has a car right in his driveway). But who knows... maybe he was walking to a bus stop that goes directly to the airport?
As mentioned, in the end it really doesn't matter, because the whole series was fantastic!
I have a question about the finale (sorry if this has been mentioned already): in the final kissing scene, where are they?
Gav leaves his house to catch Cairo at the airport. We find out that Cai's mom allows him to stay for a week. All good.
But we see Gav walking down a remote street (seemingly in the middle of nowhere), talking to Pearl on his phone, then Cai suddenly shows up. It doesn't look like an airport parking area and, from what we saw in Ep. 12, Gav's car was parked in his driveway at home, so I assume he would have just gotten into his car and driven to the airport.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this. (Not that it really matters, the finale was great!)
To deny this is absolutely homophobic and a slap in the face to all gay people.
Rocky: "I'm not gay, I will never be your boyfriend!"
Rocky, 15 minutes later: "Forget what I said... "
