For me, this has been the best episode of YothaGun, by far!
That said... what I'm really getting out of this story is that neither Yotha nor Gun is ready for a committed relationship. Seriously. They would be best served by staying single and exploring the dating scene for the next four or five years.
I’ve been scrolling through the comments, and one thing is clear—some of y’all are really shallow watchers.…
I've noticed a lot of posters here taking someone's not liking a character (in this case, Gun) as a kind of personal attack. And people have their own reasons for watching or dropping a series... that's not up for anyone to decide except the individual viewer.
I'm a longtime BL watcher, going on 7 years now, so far my series count is 269. I haven't been a big fan of the Gun character, but I'm warming up to him now as the series develops. And I've really enjoyed Santa in other series.
And I've loved certain characters that others have outright hated. I know it's not personal, it's just... different strokes for different folks.
It's a lot like the relationships we have with people in real life. We've all met people that we instantly bond with, and others that we simply don't feel a good connection, for whatever reason. Sometimes we change our minds. And some people really like us, or not. That's just... life.
And also did you notice that all the new siwaj ukes are more or less same. Either childish crybaby immature twinks…
It really is a trend with some of the women who write these novels. And I guess it somehow appeals to women viewers.
I don't mean to be misogynistic, but I'd love to see what gay men would do as BL screenwriters. (I think there are some, but they seem to be a rare commodity.)
Okay, a lot of people have complained about the Gun character being too juvenile. And I'm one of them, although I was happy that Gun seemed to "grow up" more in the last episode. But I feel compelled to write this:
A LOT of BLs (especially Thai BLs) feature a "big strong manly" guy with a "helpless childlike" guy who needs protection. It's a trend. The novels are written by women. So I can only think that this is some sort of fetish (sorry, can't think of a better word) of these writers.
But here's the thing: as an adult gay guy myself, I can tell you for real, that dynamic between men just doesn't exist the way it does in these BLs. Sure, there can be all kinds of different dynamics between two men in a relationship, but "strong man/little child" is not one of them. At least not as a couple.
That's what bugs me about the Gun character, and even Arm to a degree. It's just so hard to take seriously.
No hate on Santa, he's a good actor and he's just doing what he's asked to do.

Every time Yotha gets confused he just plants a kiss on someone, lol.
I'm waiting to find out exactly what the trauma is with Gun, because that could change everything.
I've never had an issue with Santa, only the character. But we'll see.
