This has been my favorite of the YothaGun eps so far because, from the first few minutes of the episode, it was as if Gun had magically matured by about ten years, overnight.
I'm not sure why he couldn't have started out this way but, at any rate, I'm here for it.
You all can't be serious when you try to criticize Santa's character like he's not doing the best job ever. I…
You seem awfully defensive about this. Why do you care so much what someone thinks?
I'm not going to go back and look for specific scenes. But I am talking about the forced cutesy smiles, the pouty face/stuck out lower lip when he tries to get Yotha to go along with him, things like "Pleeeeeease? Naaaaa? Na na na na na?" Just a general childlike way of conversation and "I'm so cute and adorable" approach to most things. I get that some people are just naive, but this isn't an adult or even teenager naive, it's little kid naive.

I'm always annoyed by "overly smiley, childlike, happy puppy-dog" characters, played by grown men in their twenties.
Let's be honest, if you met some guy in his 20s acting like a 6-year old, you would think something was wrong with him. And you would be right.
No hate on Santa, he's a good actor who is just doing what he's told. So, from that end, he's doing a good job.
I just don't like this unrealistic character, and felt the same with Arm, to a lesser degree. Plus, they're supposed to be romantic leads. Can't imagine either of those characters having sex, yet we're supposed to buy into that.
Let's normalize not to rate the drama with high score when you don't like story but love the actors. What is point…
I, for one, never rate a series until after I've seen all of it.
Rating a series after one or two episodes is like rating a movie when you've only watched the first 10 minutes of it. Make zero sense.
That said, it's important to remember that MDL is a platform for DISCUSSION pages, not fan pages. I've always defended everyone's right to post whatever they want, as long as it doesn't venture into outright hate and toxicity.
Unfortunately, many posters are quick to use the words "hate" and "toxic" if someone doesn't like the series -- or a specific actor -- that they like. That's ridiculous, and it's wrong. People are welcome here to post their opinions, positive or negative. If someone finds a series dull, or an actor lacking, it's okay for them to say that... just as much as someone finding a series fantastic, or an actor amazing. It works both ways.
Again, this is a DISCUSSION board, not a fan page. Please remember that.
I get it, but still would have like to have seen Gun more toned down from the start. I'm happy he's doing that now.

I'm glad you are enjoying the Gun character.

I wouldn't put too much stock in it, most people don't rate a series until after it's over, including me.
