Actually for me, I thought it was fast paced in the beginning episodes that I even had to go back to understand about the wars. Even YY and YD meeting and her going to Yanxu Palace happened in the 2nd episode usually xianxia is much slower in the beginning with all the introductions of the characters but it wasn’t the case in IS. But ofc everyone is different I guess.

A fan theory I read was he always ends up killing her and then will reverse time every time, Bcus he wants the 6realms but he also wants her. Also I think it’s hard for Asura clan to have offspring(not sure the word)? So the last time he did the time reverse RQ told him she was pregnant so I think that made he not reverse time anymore 🤔 which might’ve resulted in him dying with her. or he could be alive hidden somewhere.
