LuMing (the guy who came down to help) wasn’t strong enough to help repair his vest, which is why he told TZ to look for the four artifacts. I don’t think he knows about the mission, only YY and Heavenly Emperor knew about it. You’ll find out in part 2 why he didn’t check on YY while he was in the mortal realm.

my understanding is that when immortals go through their trial they create a celestial vest to protect their immortal spirit because a mortal body can't hold the power of an immortal. When YY was descending he was attacked, you can see as he was going down something hit him causing him to also smash the lotus seed in his hand. I think that caused him to lose his memory. Then later when he left his sect, he was attacked again which damaged his celestial vest.

it makes sense also because while YY was away in their Guodan abode , the heavenly emperor didn't send anyone to look for him that whole time. In the beginning episodes, although he was anti love but it did seem like he genuinely cared about YY.

I'm sure everyone know s YY and TZ is the same person. But we all adore TZ so much and Cheng Yi did such a great job at making TZ almost like a separate person from YY so sometimes we get too deep into our feelings for TZ . I also miss YY and he is the one who has my heart as well.
